I had plenty of clean up work to do around the RV to try to get us set to (hopefully, finally??) leave Arizona in a few months - pulling weeds, getting rid of junk and prepping our shed for paint - but I still had more fun with a nice hike up along Lynx Creek.
We were accompanied by a few rain drops on our morning walk but it wasn't enough to dampen things and Lulu loves it when the moist land has lots of new smells. Otherwise, it was our normal 2 mole neighborhood loop that I'll miss should we actually move this Summer.
I figured that it would be nice to treat Lulu to a trip to the dog park after finishing up the yard work. Unfortunately none of our usual dog friends were there but we still enjoyed a relaxed hour along with a couple of loops around the perimeter of the park.
The lake and creek campgrounds were full of people but Lulu and I took the higher old trail/path that runs high up on the hillside above the creek. Several groups of people were gold panning in the creek below as we trekked along the narrow path that took us a couple of miles up I to the narrow ravine.
Once we reached the wide waterfalls it was time to head back as the creek flowed through a very narrow and difficult ravine and our return trip would be along the rocky creek channel.
The water is gradually diminishing as the snow melt is gone and soon the creek will be dry again until the late summer monsoons.
Until then I hope we can enjoy many more great days here.
