☕ Otro café del menú || Another coffee from the menu

Ayer fue Viernes de visitar nuevamente Artesano Cafetería. Este lugar se está convirtiendo en mi lugar favorito para ir los Viernes por la tarde a tomar café y relajarme un poco en un ambiente agradable. En esta oportunidad fui con mi mejor amigo de la Universidad, aprovechando que él nunca había visitado el lugar quiso aceptar mi recomendación foodie.

Ya he probado varios de los cafés del menú, tan sólo me faltan unos dos para decir que ya he los he probado todos y elegir finalmente un favorito. En esta oportunidad probé el Café Marietta que, como pueden observar en la fotografía, contenía: espresso, sirope de vainilla, brandy, canela y leche vaporizada. En este café el sabor a licor es mucho más potente en comparación a otros cafés del menú en donde el sabor a licor se percibe muy lejanamente tras el primer sorbo. No estuvo mal, pero no ha sido mi favorito y si me preguntan sigo prefiriendo el que contenía jarabe de ron. Mi amigo pidió el Café Amanda gracias a mi recomendación, este café contiene: espresso, sirope de chocolate blanco, licor de naranja y leche vaporizada...y, sinceramente, es uno de mis dos favoritos porque en palabras de mi querida amiga Made: sabe como a Navidad.

Yesterday was Friday to visit again Artesano Cafeteria. This place is becoming my favorite place to go on Friday afternoons to have coffee and relax in a nice atmosphere. This time I went with my best friend from college, taking advantage of the fact that he had never visited the place, he wanted to accept my foodie recommendation.

I have already tried several of the coffees on the menu, I only need two more to say that I have tried them all and finally choose a favorite. This time I tried the Café Marietta which, as you can see in the picture, contained: espresso, vanilla syrup, brandy, cinnamon and steamed milk. In this coffee the liquor flavor is much more potent compared to other coffees on the menu where the liquor flavor is perceived very distantly after the first sip. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite and if you ask me I still prefer the one with rum syrup in it. My friend ordered the Café Amanda thanks to my recommendation, this coffee contains: espresso, white chocolate syrup, orange liqueur and steamed milk...and honestly, it is one of my two favorites because in the words of my dear friend Made: it tastes like Christmas.

Como ya habíamos almorzado nos limitamos a pedir un postre para acompañar con el café. Ya había probado con anterioridad los golfeados y las galletas, así que mi elección esta vez terminó siendo el ponqué con chispas de chocolate que me terminó impresionando. No me esperaba que el ponqué fuese tan grande (incluso notabas que pesaba más de la cuenta cuando lo tomabas con la mano) y estuviese relleno de una gran cantidad de gotas de chocolate, además de que tenía un plus increíble que me encanta: la corteza estaba doradita y crujiente. La miga me gustó, pero siento que el ponqué en sí tenía un sabor muy simple, quizás con un toque adicional de esencia de vainilla podría solucionarse ese detalle. Creo que nunca antes me había sentido llena al comer un ponqué y este, definitivamente, lo logró que me sintiera así.

Estuve un rato charlando con mi amigo, poniéndonos al día y quejándonos de lo complicado que es ser un adulto joven en Venezuela...ustedes saben, la conversación típica de personas veinteañeras. Mi amigo terminó amando mi recomendación de ir a Artesano Cafetería, le encantó el lugar y el café e incluso me dijo que volvería pronto a probar otras cosas del menú. Puede parecer algo tonto, pero les confieso que algo que me hace feliz es darle recomendaciones a mis amigos de lugares geniales en dónde ir a comer. En propias palabras de ellos: "Mary no falla con sus recomendaciones Foodie".

Since we had already had lunch, we just ordered a dessert to go with our coffee. I had already tried the golfeados and cookies before, so my choice this time ended up being the ponqué with chocolate chips, which really impressed me. I didn't expect the ponqué to be so big (you even noticed that it was heavier than usual when you took it in your hand) and filled with a large amount of chocolate drops, plus it had an incredible plus that I love: the crust was golden and crunchy. I liked the crumb, but I feel that the cake itself had a very simple flavor, maybe with an additional touch of vanilla essence it could be solved. I don't think I had ever felt full eating a cake before and this one definitely made me feel that way.

I spent some time chatting with my friend, catching up and complaining about how complicated it is to be a young adult in Venezuela...you know, typical twenty-something conversation. My friend ended up loving my recommendation to go to Artesano Cafeteria, he loved the place and the coffee and even told me he would be back soon to try other things on the menu. It may seem kind of silly, but I confess that something that makes me happy is giving recommendations to my friends of great places to go eat.
