Description from Strava:
It has a busy few days. I have been to London twice and then we were in Portsmouth yesterday. I have walked a lot, but I was due for a run today. We all lost an hour with the clocks going forward, but I just went with when I felt ready to get up.
I was thinking of doing my usual Sunday loop and most stuck to that. It was overcast, but not particularly cold. There is a new estate on the other side of Fairfield and I diverted to have a look around. The houses are fairly big and there is a new school in there too. It looks like it will expand some more.
I took the long way around Stotfold. There is a fair on the green with the biggest bouncy castle I have ever seen. My kids are too big for that now.
On the way out to Astwick my legs started working better despite my hip niggle. I managed one of my best times on the stretch across the fields that are still waterlogged in places. Back in Arlesey I went around by the allotments, but it was a little muddy there.
This run ended up a little longer than planned, but I seem to be coping well with the distance. I missed parkrun yesterday as we set off before then, so I have not clocked up as much running this week.
I had a variety of podcasts. One was talking about geo-engineering, which is a topic in the Neal Stephenson novel I am reading.
I was worn out by the time I got home, but then it was a long run. I managed to keep the average pace under 6min/km again. I hope to improve it over this year.
Since then we have been out in the garden. We are preparing a new site for the swimming pool and it needs some levelling.
Run free!
