Hola amigos de la comunidad de Holos & Lotus, espero que se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Hace poco leí la nueva iniciativa de nuestra amiga @charjaim dónde propone que hablemos acerca de todas esas cosas que heredamos de nuestros padres ya sean hábitos, hobbies y aprendizajes. Me gustaría invitar a @mandysmoon y @gabsartbook para que se unan y nos cuenten un poco acerca de sus historias de vida y las enseñanzas que les han dejado sus padres o familiares.
Hello friends of the Holos & Lotus community, I hope you are well today. I recently read our friend @charjaim's new initiative where she proposes that we talk about all those things we inherited from our parents whether they are habits, hobbies and learning. I would like to invite @mandysmoon and @gabsartbook to join us and tell us a little bit about their life stories and the lessons their parents or relatives have left them.
Mis padres son dos personas que tienen una forma de ser totalmente distinta y una manera de pensar que no siempre van en la misma línea. Por un lado está mi mamá quien siempre fue una mujer fuerte, capaz y muy inteligente, de ella aprendí todas las cosas que los seres humanos deberían de tener: responsabilidad, amor, paciencia, respeto, bondad, empatía. Mi mamá es una mujer muy bondadosa, ella no tiene ningún problema en dar alguna ayuda a alguien que lo necesite si está en sus manos el poder hacerlo, eso es algo que me llena de orgullo y me hace sentir que ella es de esas pocas personas especiales que todavía existen en el mundo.
My parents are two people who have a totally different way of being and a way of thinking that do not always go in the same line. On the one hand there is my mom who was always a strong, capable and very intelligent woman, from her I learned all the things that human beings should have: responsibility, love, patience, respect, kindness, empathy. My mom is a very kind woman, she has no problem in giving any help to someone who needs it if it is in her hands to do it, that is something that fills me with pride and makes me feel that she is one of those few special people that still exist in the world.
Heredé de mi madre también el amor incondicional por cualquier ser vivo incluyendo a los más indefensos como los animales. Ella siempre decía que no tendríamos ninguna mascota porque vivimos en un apartamento, que no quería tener que ser responsable de cuidarlo y de estar pendiente de todas sus necesidades. Pero un día llegó nuestra gatita y ella la vio tan mal y tan triste que se encariño desde el día uno, hasta hoy ellas son muy unidas y mi mamá la ama demasiado. Ese amor por un ser que no puede hablar pero que con una caricia te dice más que las palabras es algo invaluable. Por ella amo a los animales y también la comida 😍 jaja.
I inherited from my mother also the unconditional love for any living being including the most defenseless ones like animals. She always said that we wouldn't have any pets because we live in an apartment, that she didn't want to be responsible for taking care of them and being aware of all their needs. But one day our kitten arrived and she saw her so bad and so sad that she got attached from day one, until today they are very close and my mom loves her too much. That love for a being that can not speak but with a caress tells you more than words is something priceless. Because of her I love animals and also food 😍 haha.
Mi mamá me enseñó a cocinar junto a mi abuela, no es que haga las mejores comidas pero si me puedo defender en la cocina. Algo que aprendí de mi mamá fue hacer dulces, en especial tortas y quesillo, ya que a ella le encantan y siempre en los cumpleaños se destacaba por tener todos los aperitivos listos y bien preparados. De ella aprendí también que todos merecemos siempre vivir la vida que deseamos, aunque es muy sentimental y eso es algo que forma parte también de mi personalidad, ella siempre vivió de forma en la que sus ideales y sus valores nunca fueran diferentes solo por las opiniones de los demás.
My mom taught me to cook with my grandmother, it's not that I make the best meals but I can defend myself in the kitchen. Something I learned from my mom was to make sweets, especially cakes and quesillo, since she loved them and always stood out on birthdays for having all the snacks ready and well prepared. From her I also learned that we all deserve to always live the life we want, although she is very sentimental and that is something that is also part of my personality, she always lived in a way that her ideals and values were never different just because of the opinions of others.
Acerca de mi papá la verdad es que he convivido muy poco con él, pero las pocas veces que he estado cerca pude notar que es un hombre muy valiente y a la vez tiene una fé muy grande en Dios, sobre todo después de pasar por una situación de salud bastante grave y de la que sobrevivió de milagro. No siempre ha sido el mejor padre, creo que las cosas las pudo haber hecho mejor, pero dentro de todo es un padre medianamente preocupado por sus hijos. Aunque la distancia es bastante grande para vernos más seguido pero tengo muchas cosas parecidas a el principalmente soy la hija que más se parece físicamente a él jajaja, también compartimos el gusto por la Coca Cola, por las siestas de las tardes que el me cuenta tomaba conmigo antes de irse a trabajar cuando vivíamos juntos.
About my dad the truth is that I have lived very little with him, but the few times I have been close to him I could notice that he is a very brave man and at the same time he has a great faith in God, especially after going through a very serious health situation from which he survived by a miracle. He has not always been the best father, I think he could have done things better, but all in all he is a father who is moderately concerned about his children. Although the distance is big enough to see each other more often but I have many things similar to him, mainly I am the daughter who most resembles him physically hahaha, we also share the taste for Coca Cola, for the afternoon naps that he tells me he used to take with me before going to work when we lived together.
Compartimos parte de un problema de salud, ambos somos operados de las piernas por razones distintas pero es algo que tenemos en común, no sé si tendrá algo que ver con que vinimos a experimentar esa situación en la vida para ser más cercanos o fue una simple casualidad. A ambos nos encanta poder hablar mucho, de hecho en algunas ocasiones podemos pasar horas en el teléfono hablando y siempre se siente bien ❤️🩹. Sin embargo hay cosas que agradezco no tener de mi padre aunque suene un poco fuerte y es el decir mentiras y ser distante, no sé si hay algo que le impide ser de una manera diferente pero esto es algo que no me gusta de él.
We share part of a health problem, we are both operated on our legs for different reasons but it is something we have in common, I don't know if it will have something to do with us coming to experience that situation in life to be closer or it was just a coincidence. We both love being able to talk a lot, in fact on some occasions we can spend hours on the phone talking and it always feels good ❤️🩹. However there are things I am thankful not to have from my father even though it sounds a bit strong and that is telling lies and being distant, I don't know if there is something that prevents him from being in a different way but this is something I don't like about him.
Con sus aciertos y desaciertos, ambos me criaron en base a sus propias experiencias de vida, a su manera de querer y con amor dentro de todo, se que en algunas ocasiones no me gustan ciertas cosas de mis padres pero utilizo lo mejor de ellos para mí bienestar y recuerdo siempre desde sus historias de vida lo que sería mejor para mí y lo que no me gustaría repetir. Los amo mucho y siempre deseo poder disfrutar de ellos por más tiempo, creo que nos debemos muchas conversaciones y momentos juntos para sanar viejas heridas y recordar que aunque no todo fue perfecto, hicieron lo mejor que pudieron y eso esta bien, los respeto y los perdono además de perdonarme también a mi que como hija no he sido la mejor, pero siempre he tratado de hacer las cosas bien para que se sientan orgullosos de mi.
With their successes and failures, they both raised me based on their own life experiences, their way of loving and with love in everything, I know that sometimes I do not like certain things about my parents but I use the best of them for my well being and I always remember from their life stories what would be best for me and what I would not like to repeat. I love them very much and I always wish I could enjoy them for longer, I think we owe each other many conversations and moments together to heal old wounds and remember that although not everything was perfect, they did the best they could and that's ok, I respect and forgive them besides forgiving me too that as a daughter I have not been the best, but I have always tried to do things right so they feel proud of me.
