Una introducción necesaria
En mi caso, debo participar con mis trabajadores porque, como Director de Gestión del Conocimiento del Instituto de Geología y Paleontología, dirijo una editorial que produce libros de Ciencias de la Tierra y soy miembro profesional de la feria.
Por tal razón, durante todo el tiempo que dura la feria hacemos diferentes actividades y, dentro de ellas, está la compra de libros para nuestra biblioteca y también compro los libros para satisfacer mis necesidades literarias.
Por todo lo anterior, le comparto esta publicación en la que les llevaré conmigo a las editoriales y stands expositivos en los que compramos nuestros libros, alguno de ellos buscados durante largo tiempo y que ahora puedo tener en mis manos.
La 32 Feria Internacional del Libro de la Habana, Cuba
Cada año la feria se dedica a un país, que es el invitado de honor. Este año esa distinción recayó en la República Federativa de Brasil. Por eso me puse una gorra que identifica al gigante sudamericano y me fui a la aventura del libro y el saber que constituye este evento cultural, el más importante que se realiza en todo el país.
Países participantes
Esta es una feria reconocida internacionalmente y en la que participan una gran cantidad de editoriales de países que cada año acuden con sus principales libros. Dentro de estos países, además de Brasil, como país invitado de honor participan:
Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, China, México, Perú, República Árabe Saharaui, Unión Europea, Venezuela, Viet Nam; entre otros.
Editorial favorita
Por los temas que se investigan en nuestro centro y los libros que produce, tenemos relaciones de trabajo con diferentes editoriales, pero, las que imprimen y venden libros relacionados con la ciencia tienen prioridad. Dentro de estas editoriales están: La editorial Universitaria, Editora Abril, Ciencias Sociales y otras. Pero, la Editorial Nuevo Milenio es con la que más colaboración tenemos porque, además, de estos libros, produce libros de deportes, historia, cultura y otros que la hacen una editorial integral.
Los libros comprados
Después de mostrar nuestras credenciales, pasamos al complejo “Morro Cabaña”, sede principal de la feria. Nuevamente, quedé maravillado, ante el gran número de público asistente y la gran cantidad y variedad de editoriales, libros, países y pabellones dedicados a promocionar y comercializar los libros.
Como todos los años fuimos a la Editorial Milenio y compramos varios de los libros que estábamos buscando. Estos libros estuvieron centrados en temas relacionados con nuestro trabajo como “La Gran Caverna de Santo Tomás”, “La Bahía de Guantánamo”, “Diccionario ecológico”, “Aventura tecnológica”; entre otros.
Un tesoro encontrado
Pero, la mayor alegría la tuve al comprar para mí un libro largamente deseado y perseguido, de un autor que es profesor universitario y al que admiro mucho. Este libro se titula “Béisbol y Nación en Cuba” y será tema de una publicación en esta comunidad.
Otros libros
Después de realizar la compra del día, nos dedicamos a disfrutar de otros espacios de la feria y visitar otros sitios dedicados a la venta de libros. De momento, llegamos a un lugar que me encantó porque estaban vendiendo libros que han formado parte de alguna etapa de mi vida, alguno de ellos como el “Diario de Ana Frank”, que fue una de mis publicaciones en esta comunidad. Ahí también estaban otros textos que son joyas de la literatura universal como: Drácula, Crimen y Castigo, Arsenio Lupín, La Metamorfosis y muchos más.
Un comentario final
Todavía faltan varios días para que la 32 Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana llegue a su fin, por lo que todavía nos quedan varias jornadas para seguir disfrutando de la fiesta de la lectura. Nos quedan otros libros por comprar y otras actividades por realizar. De momento, esta es parte de nuestras actividades en lo que va de feria, en la que ya logré comprar uno de los libros que durante tanto tiempo estuve buscando.

A necessary introduction
Every year, these days, Cuba turns into a giant library and becomes an enchanted place where the book becomes the great protagonist of the whole society by hosting the Havana International Book Fair, which then spreads to all the provinces of the country.
In my case, I have to participate with my workers because, as Director of Knowledge Management of the Institute of Geology and Paleontology, I run a publishing house that produces books on Earth Sciences and I am a professional member of the fair.
For this reason, during the whole time that the fair lasts we do different activities and, among them, there is the purchase of books for our library and I also buy books to satisfy my literary needs.
For all of the above I share with you this publication in which I will take you with me to the publishers and exhibition stands where we buy our books, some of them long sought after and now I can have them in my hands.
The 32nd International Book Fair of Havana, Cuba
Each year the fair is dedicated to a country, which is the guest of honor. This year that distinction went to the Federative Republic of Brazil. That's why I put on a cap that identifies the South American giant and went on an adventure of books and knowledge that constitutes this cultural event, the most important that takes place in the whole country.
Participating countries
This is an internationally recognized fair in which a large number of publishers from countries that come every year with their main books participate. Among these countries, in addition to Brazil, as guest of honor participate:

Favorite publishing house
Because of the topics that are investigated in our center and the books it produces we have working relationships with different publishers, but, those that print and sell books related to Science have priority. Among these publishers are: Editorial Universitaria, Editora Abril, Ciencias Sociales and others. But, Editorial New Milenio is the one with which we have the most collaboration because, in addition to these books, it produces books on sports, history, culture and others that make it an integral publishing house.
Books purchased
After showing our credentials, we went to the "Morro Cabaña" complex, the main venue of the fair. Again, I was amazed at the large number of visitors and the great number and variety of publishers, books, countries and pavilions dedicated to promoting and marketing books.
As every year we went to Editorial Milenio and bought several of the books we were looking for. These books were focused on topics related to our work such as "The Great Cavern of St. Thomas", "Guantanamo Bay", "Ecological Dictionary", "Technological Adventure"; among others.
A treasure found
But, the greatest joy I had was when I bought for myself a long desired and pursued book, by an author who is a university professor and whom I admire very much. This book is entitled "Baseball and Nation in Cuba" and will be the subject of a publication in this community.
Other books
After making the purchase of the day, we enjoyed other areas of the fair and visited other places dedicated to the sale of books. At the moment, we arrived at a place that I loved because they were selling books that have been part of some stage of my life, some of them like the "Diary of Ana Fran" which was one of my publications in this community. There were also other texts that are jewels of universal literature such as: Dracula, Crime and Punishment, Arsenio Lupin, The Metamorphosis and many others.
A final comment
There are still several days to go before the 32nd Havana International Book Fair comes to an end, so we still have several days left to continue enjoying the reading party. We still have other books to compare and other activities to do. For the time being, this is part of our activities so far at the fair, where I managed to buy one of the books I was looking for so long.
