Hello Hello feathered friends and all sunny people of the Hive
I take loads of photographs now it is all digital. Far too many just sit not being documented, that is down to me being a lazy arse at times. Sometimes I wait for the right opportunity.
Today is one such opportunity to showcase some of our local swans 🦢.
I am sure you have heard of Two's company, Three's a crowd.
If not, “Two's company, three's a crowd” is an idiom that means a third person is not welcome when two people want to be alone.
Today's wee post is Two's company, three's a crowd ~ 🦢 Swan style, that is to document what happened in Beveridge Park, Kirkcaldy in Scotland on Tuesday 24th September.
I went up to feed the swans and this is what I saw...
Talk about an evil eye!
Look at the bloody faces on these two!
Another pose
What were they looking at?
There on the tarmac was another swan. I presumed she was injured. So gave some food while I went to the internet and looked for advice on what to do.
She was happy enough at the beginning and was eating the pellets.
So as not to leave the other two out I gave them some too.
That was all going swimmingly at the beginning until the lone girl decided to ...
... her neck out at the other girl in the water.
The other one got all stropping and out came the hissing!
By this time a little old lady came up for a chat and explained that after the male swan had died, another male moved in and they won't let the lone swan stay on the pond!
Nature can be cruel
She said the lone swan had been seen at different places over the park but was not allowed onto the water.
We had a chat for a good few minutes and explained I was about to call the RSPB and ask for advice as that is the Royal Society for PRotection of Birds.
By this time, the swans had all calmed down and the lone one was so relaxed that she had a wee nap!
Swan siesta time
She is not there anymore so I just hope she found a stretch of water that welcomed her.
I don't get why some swans are arseholes and protective of their water and don't share, yet other places loads of swans live in harmony on smaller bodies of water!
This post though, is an entry for this week's Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 192 hosted by the wonderful @nelinoeva in the fantastic Feathered Friends community on Hive.
And I shall pick this one for the entry
I do have some short videos that I was going to post too but this 3speak does not appear to work anymore. Not sure what that is all about.
Anyway I decided I wanted the lone girl to be the featured entry and this one of her telling them to fluff off is the one I choose!
What do you think? Was that your favourite?
Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your day!
