Thursday Check In

Hello, my friends. I can't believe that it's Thursday. Life has again gotten challenging and work is still so busy. I'm drained mentally by the time 4:30 rolls around.

The days flew by this week, and I'm counting down to my vacation to Hawaii it's coming Tuesday. This is a bucket list trip and a gift from my friend at church to accompany her on the trip intended to celebrate her beloved sister's 70th birthday. She passed away from complications from cancer treatment. The cancer was survivable, but she developed an infection that turned septic and a week from accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior she went to be with him. Candy asked me to come with her. What an honor to be asked. My flight and accommodations were paid in advance. We are prepared to go and fully enjoy exploring two islands.

This afternoon I got my haircut. My hairdresser is a good friend now. I've been going to the same salons for over twenty years. I can vent and get a stylish haircut at the same time. My Tuesday haircut was postponed because the salon's ceiling caved. A carpenter came to repair it on Wednesday.

I'm trying to be prepared for the nine days I'm going to be away. The Lord planned this for a good time in my life. I need to step out of my life and explore a place of sunshine and warmth. I need to see more of God's creation and enjoy relaxing and no work. I pray that the experience will provide the mental reset I need and provide new creative material.

Sunday afternoon I went to my first sip and paint with my granddaughter and we had a wonderful time until I developed a migraine that came on fast and hard. We completed our paintings and it was a freeing experience. I didn't realize how difficult it would be for a perfectionist to let the lines flow. I had to relinquish following the example completely. I would never have completed the painting. The other factor that affected me was that the paintings needed to be finished before leaving.
Time slows down when a migraine drops in.

We will do this again one day and we talked about a ceramic class next.

I'm alive and thriving thank you for reading 📚. I may not be on for the time being, but know I'll be storing up new material to share in the future.
