I would like to share the story of my unexpected encounter with the Trametes lactinea mushroom in the village forest. At that time, I was walking slowly amidst the tall trees, observing small details around me that I usually missed. I stopped in my tracks when I saw something striking on the trunk of a dead tree ahead—a cluster of Trametes lactinea mushrooms growing in beautiful piles.

This mushroom has a charming concentric circle pattern with a combination of white, cream and slightly brownish colors. The shape is like an open fan, and the texture looks smooth but sturdy. Without hesitation, I immediately took out my macro lens and looked for the best angle to capture this natural beauty. Even though the sunlight filtered through the leaves was quite dim, I tried hard to get the unique details and patterns of this mushroom.

After taking several pictures, I was satisfied with the results and felt lucky to have found this Trametes lactinea mushroom. For me, every discovery in the forest brings its own story and beauty, especially from life as simple as this mushroom. It feels great to be able to share this moment in the nature observer community, hopefully it can bring inspiration to others to also explore the wonders of the forest around them.
