Hello, photography lovers! Today I bring you chapter 4 with several photographic exercises that I did on the site 52frames during 2020, my first year there. I hope you find them interesting!
Hola, amantes de la fotografía! Hoy les traigo el capítulo 4 con varios ejercicios fotográficos que hice en el sitio 52frames durante el 2020, mi primer año ahí. Espero que les resulten interesantes!
Week 21, 2020: Symmetry / Simetría
I always loved the radial symmetry inside a sunflower, unfortunately couldn’t find the right one to complete this task as I would wanted. Not big, grown enough, and so on. So, this is a photo of an idea of what it could be.
Siempre me encantó la simetría radial dentro de un girasol, desafortunadamente no pude encontrar el adecuado para completar esta tarea como quería. No es grande, no ha crecido lo suficiente, etc. Entonces esta es una foto de una idea de lo que podría haber sido.
Week 22, 2020: 50 feet from home / A 15 metros de casa
By then, Covid was loose doing its thing and worldwide we all had some level of quarantine. This challenge ask us to leave the house for those few feet and find something interesting. That day the sun caressed this small grass and I dedicated my photo to it, it was very close to my house.
El Covid estaba suelto haciendo de las suyas en aquél entonces. Mundialmente todos teníamos algún nivel de cuarentena, así que este reto pedía salir de casa esos escasos metros y encontrar algo interesante. Aquél día el sol acariciaba esta pequeña hierba y le dediqué mi foto, muy cerca de mi casa.
Week 23, 2020: Dancing / Bailando
Alicia Alonso passed away a time ago, the world of ballet knows it. She was Prima Ballerina Assoluta. My daughter studied ballet for two years starting at 6 years old, but she quit voluntarily. So, for this challenge there wasn’t more where to look. The title is because Amalia is our Prima Ballerina Assoluta, undoubtedly.
Alicia Alonso falleció hace un tiempo, el mundo del ballet lo sabe. Ella era Prima Ballerina Assoluta. Mi hija estudió ballet durante dos años desde los 6 años, pero lo dejó voluntariamente. Entonces, para este desafío no había más dónde buscar. El título se debe a que Amalia es nuestra Prima Ballerina Assoluta, sin duda.
Week 24, 2020: Hands / Manos
I really like to see an animal sleep. It started with my late cocker spaniel, I loved to see her beautiful hair and long ears, peacefully resting by my side…and then, when she was gone, this cat showed up on our yard. She decided we were her family or…whatever, you know what cats think about us. And also I like to see her sleep, so, when comes the opportunity, I couldn’t help myself from caress a little bit her tummy. There are a few different responses to my hand, but today when I was willing to take my shot, she grabbed my hand gently and stopped it, just for the seconds I needed.
Me gusta mucho ver dormir a un animal. Comenzó con mi difunta cocker spaniel, me encantaba ver su hermoso cabello y largas orejas, descansando pacíficamente a mi lado... y luego, cuando ella se fue, esta gata apareció en nuestro jardín. Ella decidió que éramos su familia o… lo que sea, ya sabes lo que los gatos piensan de nosotros. Y también me gusta verla dormir, así que, cuando llega la oportunidad, no pude evitar acariciar un poco su barriguita. Hay algunas respuestas diferentes a mi mano, pero hoy, cuando estaba dispuesto a hacer la foto, ella agarró mi mano suavemente y la detuvo, solo por los segundos que necesitaba.
Week 25, 2020: Make a background / Crea un fondo
I took a crystal vase, placed over my led light, added this crystal things we have, poured some water and took my shot. Cropped the image like a crazy and there it is: a background. I’m kinda happy with the result.
Tomé un jarrón de cristal, lo coloqué sobre mi luz LED, agregué estos elementos de cristal que tenemos, vertí un poco de agua y tomé mi foto. Recorté la imagen como un loco y ahí está: un fondo. Estoy un poco contento con el resultado, pero no del todo.
Week 26, 2020: Flashlight / Linterna
I was trying different angles with the light pointing at my cat, when I saw the shadow projected against the wall and I knew that was my shot. Turned off all lights outside my house and pointed my bike’s flashlight towards my model. She was resting in the middle of my backyard after her meal, so this was the right time to get her in sharp focus even at 1/10s of exposure time.
Estaba probando diferentes ángulos con la luz apuntando a mi gata, cuando vi la sombra proyectada contra la pared y supe que esa era mi foto. Apagué todas las luces afuera de mi casa y apunté la linterna de mi bicicleta hacia mi modelo. Ella estaba descansando en medio de mi patio trasero después de comer, por lo que este era el momento adecuado para enfocarla nítidamente incluso con 1/10s de tiempo de exposición.
Some photos correspond better than others to each challenge posed...I will embrace imperfection!
Algunas fotos corresponden mejor que otras a cada reto planteado...abrazaré la imperfección!
