Hello, Splinterlands warriors! Today, I want to share a unique experience from the Battle of the Day. You know those moments when you’re confident your strategy is solid, only to find out your opponent had the same idea? Well, this battle was exactly like that—except for one monster!
Both my opponent and I used nearly identical strategies. I chose IZIAR as my main tank, backed by DJINN RENOVA with Triage for healing. On the front line, DRYBONE BARBARIAN was boosted by JANN REBEL’s Inspire effect, while CAPTAIN KATIE sniped from the backline.
My opponent? The exact same setup! Except for one crucial difference—I used URAEUS, while they opted for SPIRIT HOARDER for extra Triage healing. It seemed minor, but in Splinterlands, a small change can have a massive impact!
From the start, both sides focused fire on each other’s backline. CAPTAIN KATIE on both teams kept sniping, while DJINN RENOVA and SPIRIT HOARDER scrambled to heal. But here’s where URAEUS started to shine (literally!). JANN REBEL’s Inspire boosted URAEUS’s melee attacks, and once its Poison kicked in, the opponent’s IZIAR slowly crumbled.

At this point, I realized my strategy had the edge. My opponent prioritized extra sustain, while I leaned into aggressive poison damage. The result? Their IZIAR fell first, collapsing their formation. Without their main tank, their monsters dropped one by one… and finally—Victory!
The takeaway? Sometimes, a single monster can flip the script. My opponent chose longer sustain, but my aggressive play paid off. So, if you’re ever unsure about that last monster slot—remember, small choices can win wars!
