On a daily basis and without realising it, we exchange
half-hearted sarcasm for state-of-the-art self-indulgence,
as if it were a natural transaction,
a necessary evolution for survival.
We leave behind bitter laughter and biting remarks,
to embrace the false security of perfection,
we delude ourselves, believing
that we are better, more worthy of love and admiration.
