Welcome to my week 2 daily blog!
How was your weekend? My weekend is unforgettable and full of lifetime memories.

Friendship is a bond that doesn't fade, even when life takes us in different directions. Though we've each moved on to new work environments and our daily routines may no longer overlap, the foundation of our friendship remains strong. Time and distance may create physical space between us, but true friends always find a way to stay connected. Whether through a quick message, a phone call, or the occasional meet-up, the memories we’ve shared and the trust we've built continue to keep us close. No matter where life takes us, our friendship is one that endures, proving that real connections are never bound by time or place.

Allow me to share with you my circle of friends. We were supposed to be a larger group, but some of them had errands to run. Anyway, every Saturday, we used to hang out—not outside, but in our boarding houses. It was a very fun experience since we came from different provinces in Cebu and Mindanao, such as Bohol, Tacloban, Leyte, Bogo City, Danao City, and Camiguin. We got along well together and shared various experiences from our lives.

Here are the dishes we cooked: sinugbang baboy, which was marinated using my own recipe; adobong chicken feet, sarciadong bulad, sinuglaw and sinugbang isda, which were cooked and seasoned by my boyfriend. And my boardmates and friends also helped by preparing everything needed for marinating and slicing the condiments. We enjoy eating together, laughing together, and having fun teasing each other. We were very happy at that moment because we had shared so many things, including the different cultures from our provinces. For some of my friends, it was their first time experiencing this kind of dinner night.

Dinner with my friends is always a special occasion filled with laughter, simple food, and great company. As we sit on the floor and use our cleaned hands while eating and enjoying the delicious dishes we've prepared together, it's not just about the meal, but the shared moments that make it unforgettable. In every bite, we exchange stories, joke around, and reminisce about old memories, making every minute feel priceless. The joy of eating together goes beyond the food; it's about the connection, the warmth, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by those we care about. In these moments, we find happiness not just in the meal, but in the bond that makes every dinner a celebration.

After finishing dinner, the floor is filled with the comforting hum of contentment as everyone leans back and burped, relaxed and satisfied. The plates are cleared, but the laughter and conversation continue, flowing more easily as the evening settles in. Our boys are playing mobile legends while girls are having another food trip like pizza, fries, and popcorn. We simply enjoy the cozy atmosphere. It’s the perfect time for deeper conversations, for reflecting on the day or sharing future plans. While the boys were playing mobile legends and drinking beer, the girls, on the other hand, were watching horror movies and drinking as well. We had so much laughter because not all of us are fans of horror, especially me. Every time the scary background music played, we would shout, laugh, and cover our eyes. We also judged the horror makeup artists because it looked ugly—well, in fact, it wasn't; we were just convincing ourselves so we wouldn't be scared.

When we decided to have the boys and girls sit together in a circle, we couldn't help but laugh out loud. We felt tipsy and sleepy, but I was so happy because none of us gave in to sleep. We are immortal, even though my boyfriend had work the next day—he stayed up all night. I believe that when you're in a good, non-toxic circle of friends, it’s hard not to keep the night going. Out of the blue, we checked the clock and saw that it was already 4:30 A.M., and we were still awake. Some of the girls decided to cook breakfast—pancakes, since we had pancake mix on hand. While they were preparing it, we continued watching movies, and some of us played CODM. We knew this was only for this weekend, because after this, we would have to go back to reality.

Spending time with friends is one of life’s simplest yet most rewarding pleasures. Time spent with friends feels effortless, as if the world slows down, and nothing else matters except the joy of being together. There’s a unique comfort in knowing that, no matter what happens, these people will always have your back. The good times are not just about what you do, but about how you feel—supported, understood, and genuinely happy. It’s in those moments that we realize how lucky we are to have people who make life brighter, just by being part of it.

After we had breakfast, we decided to part ways. My boyfriend went to work, feeling sleepy and tired. Some of them went home to their boarding houses to sleep, while others stayed at ours. We were all tired, sleepy, and a little hangover after that long and unforgettable night. We also decided to have part 2 of it, but we'd like to do it at the beach. However, we haven't set a date yet because we're all so busy with work, and this was the only weekend we all had the same rest days.

To everyone who has a friend like ours who brings positivity, kindness, and support into your life—hold onto them. True friends are rare, and when you have someone who lifts you up, who listens without judgment, and who genuinely cares about your well-being, you're truly fortunate. They’re the ones who remind you that life is better when you share it with people who have your back. In a world where toxicity can sometimes feel overwhelming, having a friend who’s real, genuine, and kind is a blessing. Let’s celebrate those friendships and never take them for granted. Cherish the people who make your life brighter and never hesitate to show them how much they mean to you.
