These past few days, I’ve been frequently traveling to the Kuala Lumpur city center for work. Initially, I thought there would be fewer on-site meetings during Ramadan, but the opposite happened, where I’ve been spending most of my time at client sites rather than in the office.
The constant travel in the scorching heat is exhausting, especially during Ramadan. But this is the nature of my job. So, I push through, reminding myself that I’m doing it for my children.
On my way to meetings, I often pass by some of Kuala Lumpur’s iconic landmarks and famous buildings. A few of them are captured in the photograph below
Menara Affin & TRX Tower
This is the new Affin Bank headquarters. Named Menara Affin @ TRX which was opened in 2021. Next to Menara Affin is the TRX Tower, which was opened to the public in 2023.

Akademi Balet Federal ( Federal Academy of Ballet)
The history of the Federal Academy of Ballet goes back to 1967. Started their operation in the school hall before growing into a leading dance institution in Malaysia. Akademi Balet Federal Website
This building is located in PJ next to Tun Abdul Aziz mosque and the famous Pakezza Pakistani restaurant.

Menara Tabung Haji
Located in Jalan Ampang, Menara Tabung Haji is the headquarters for the Malaysian Hajj Pilgrims Fund Board. I just learned from Wikipedia that the tower was opened in 1984. Meaning it is the same age as me 😁

Menara Merdeka 118
This is the newest tower in Malaysia and is currently the second-tallest building and structure in the world. Merdeka 118 is also the tallest building in Southeast Asia. It was officially opened to the public in 2024

Railway Administration Building
This is one of the historic buildings in Kuala Lumpur. Built in 1917, it was originally built to serve as the offices of the Federated Malay States Railways. Now it serves as the headquarters of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB). KTMB is a government-linked company that operates and administers Malaysian railway services.
