Are you very busy and find it hard to exercise? Do you know that cycling is a very good form of exercise? Most kids go on errands via bicycle and while they are having fun they are also exercising.
Well, it may interest you to know some of the health benefits of cycling.
As much as cycling can be fun it can also provide you with maximum health benefits without you know, first of all, cycling has boosted my endurance level, I could go on a long physical activity without feeling tired so easily.
More to that, cycling can help our respiratory organs as it improves our lung capacity and ease the airways.
However, as much as most of us enjoy cycling for fun and for exercise it is very important we heed safety precautions while cycling.
This post was inspired by an accident I encountered a few days ago while coming back from work, this particular kid looked like he was on an errand with his bicycle when he suddenly found himself on the ground, what led to it? I really can't figure it out but what I know Is that if I guessed right, he was probably distracted by a couple of people or something in particular.
Thankfully there wasn't an incoming vehicle, so he was quite safe, he picked his bicycle up, took a deep breath and continued his cycling.
If the road had been tarred I am sure he would have sustained an injury on his head cause he hit it so hard on the ground.
The safety precautions for cycling include wearing a perfect-sized helmet to protect one's head from unforeseen occurrences like this.
Wearing an oversized helmet isn't good as is tantamount to not even wearing one, injuries are usually fatal, so it's important to wear a safety helmet that fits like a glove.
In today's world, most drivers often feel irritated by the presence of cyclists so they mostly try so hard to ignore them, when one wears a safety helmet and maybe a safety outfit, (reflective jacket at night) they will surely be seen.
What you do with your bicycle also determines the kind of bicycle to get, but whatever choice of bicycle one gets, it is important to care for it and make good use of reflectors on the pedal and rear lights too.
Choosing the right size of the bicycle is also another safety measure, I see most kids riding bicycles that are way bigger than them and that is not safe at all.
Before buying a bicycle one should first try it out, they can try to adjust the saddles, the handlebars, and pedals in a way that's so comfortable to use.
I hope next time before cycling, either for fun or for exercise we all take to heart the safety measures because life is indeed precious also try to focus while we are on our bicycles to avoid mishaps that can endanger our loves or others.
