One difficult battle for one is an easy ride for the other.

    Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. As we journey through life, we encounter different challenges, some easy and some difficult. Also a challenge that is easy for you, it is not easy for another. Many times I have seen people judge and criticize others because a task that was easy for them was very difficult for the other person. The work rate we need to overcome the challenges that come our way differs, because we will definitely find some easy and some not easy.

As we go about our daily lives, we are bound to encounter challenges; some leave us struggling to overcome them, while others are overcome in a twinkle of an eye without needing to stress so much. No one likes or enjoys the frustration that comes with not being able to overcome a challenge, which is why we will all choose the easy task if given the opportunity to choose. Overcoming a difficult task can be frustrating. After trying and trying but getting no positive results, sometimes you feel like giving up before you eventually get it right.

One thing I never struggled to learn.

The one thing I never struggled to learn was how to ride a bicycle. I learned how to ride a bicycle even before I got my own. It was like a dream; a friend kept his bicycle, and I just hopped on it and started paddling. No one taught me how to; I just got it figured out on my own. Knowing how to ride but not owning a cycle of my own almost turned me into an errand boy for those that owned one because I needed to keep practicing, and the only way I get to do that is if I keep them close since I don't have a cycle of my own.

Back then, I never prayed for nightfall because once it is nightfall, we are forced to retire back to our various houses and have to wait until after school the next day. I always wanted to be close to the bicycle owners. I finally got mine after some time, and I perfected my riding skills. Sometimes, when I remember how I got it figured out without any tutor, I feel proud of myself. No prior practice; just one try, and I picked up.

One thing I am still struggling to learn.

Definitely, we have things we learned with the speed of light and those that took us ages to learn. One thing I am still struggling to get figured out is driving. I have gone to the field with my dad, and he puts me through with all I need to know, but all to no avail. The funny thing is that my dad is the second person trying to put me through, but still no positive results. My dad keeps saying it is like riding a bike; is riding a bike and driving a car the same thing?

He keeps saying I am scared; that's why I can't pick up. Well, it is true because whenever they hand over the steering wheel to me, my heart starts beating faster than normal, and in the end, I keep making the same mistake.

Comparing both scenarios and what I have to say.

I know a friend who, despite how hard we tried to teach him how to ride a bicycle, couldn't, and we all gave up on him. But it did not take him two months to perfect his driving skills. I came to realize that a difficult task for one is an easy pass for another. We are all wired differently, which is why comparing yourself to others will hurt you and not help you.
