The Age of Quantum Computer

Hello everyone. I hope all of you are doing well. Those of you who have seen the latest developments in the quantum computer space, might have witnessed that there are two major developments. Google has launched their new quantum computers chip Willow. And there is a similar release in China, although we do not know much information about that. Now these are breathtaking innovations and a major breakthrough in a cryptography space.

Based on the news that I have seen, Google's quantum computer has a spec of 104 qubits. While the Chinese have it at upwards of 500. Now the number of qubits being higher does matter as it provides additional computational power which will be used in the future to decrypt many encryption mechanisms around the world. The problem is Google even though it has only 104 qubits, has a better system to mitigate errors or so I have read. So it boasts a significant amount of operational power than its Chinese counterpart. But actually super computers or quantum computers for that matter, haven't really reached the levels of breaking encryption around the world. But it is a very significant step forward in this matter. And since these giant companies have managed this much, there is no doubt that they will push forward and bring more efficient quantum computers over the years.

And when that time comes as I've said earlier, I have made a post regarding this matter about a couple months ago. That is that all encryption and cryptography around the world which are keeping our secrets now from the enemies, will be rendered useless. As these quantum computers can solve these encryptions in a matter of seconds, only using brute force. What might take a traditional computer at your home a few million years to solve, A quantum computer can do it inside a few seconds. So that should give you a vague idea on how powerful the quantum computer is. So cyber security is in the threat. And I believe researchers and scientists around the world are trying their best to figure out new encryption methods that can combat this threat.
