Greetings my friends. A few days ago I wanted to tell this community that I have published a book of poetry and also about the path that this publication has taken. The title of my book is "Para espantar este frío", it is a décima, the national stanza of Cuba that has its antecedents in Spain since the décima or espinela was created by Vicente Espinel.
Una cantante se enamoró de mis poesías para cantarlas en forma de tonadas. En su interpretación le pone un sentimiento tremendo y yo siento la historia en mi pecho otra vez. Ya ha cantado las dos primeras poesías dedicadas a mis padres. Entonces fue invitada a un programa televisivo de alcance nacional y de mucha tradición poética en nuestro país.
A singer fell in love with my poems to sing them in the form of tunes. She puts tremendous feeling into her interpretation and I feel the story in my chest again. She has already sung the first two poems dedicated to my parents. Then she was invited to a television program of national scope and of great poetic tradition in our country.
Me gustaría anotar que la emisión corrió a cargo de Ediciones Loynaz con su colección Guijarros. El editor fue para mí un regalo inmenso, José Raúl Fraguela un escritor muy reconocido en Cuba por su obra literaria.

Con la interpretación de mis décimas en el programa dominical llegaron cientos de mensajes de felicitación y aliento para que siga componiendo.
El libro se presentó en la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana y en la Feria de mi provincia Pinar del Río. Por esta razón he ido entonces a la radio y a la televisión para conversar con el público sobre esta propuesta.

Qué emoción sentir que mi familia, vecinos alumnos y compañeros de trabajo acogieron con mucho amor mi propuesta y están orgullosos de mí. En la radio conocí dos jóvenes muy inteligentes y activos. Ellos leyeron mis décimas para el público y quedaron conmovidos, algunas lágrimas brotaron de sus ojos con el mensaje, al punto de emocionarme a mí. Entonces les regalé un libro para ellos, luego les hablé de hive y ya hoy son miembros de la colmena.
What a thrill to feel that my family, neighbors, students and co-workers welcomed my proposal with much love and are proud of me. On the radio I met two very intelligent and active young people. They read my tenths for the public and were moved, some tears flowed from their eyes with the message, to the point of moving me. Then I gave them a book for them, then I told them about hive and today they are already members of the hive.
Con todas esas emociones me fui a celebrar a la casa de mi amiga cantante Yaimara Ramírez. Por primera vez mi poesía se hizo canción para todo el país. Allí le regalé un ejemplar pues ella aún no lo tenía y cantó entonces de felicidad.
With all those emotions I went to celebrate at my singer friend Yaimara Ramirez's house. For the first time my poetry became a song for the whole country. There I gave her a copy because she still didn't have it and she sang with happiness.
Qué extraño eso de firmar autógrafos, les confieso que me puso nerviosa, no quería dejar una nota fría y ya, quería personalizar una dedicatoria para las personas que con amor me pidieron que les escribiera una nota de recuerdo.
I confess it made me nervous, I didn't want to just leave a cold note, I wanted to personalize a dedication for the people who lovingly asked me to write them a note as a souvenir.
Ahora cada día tengo una emoción nueva, la cantante me manda siempre un mensaje de voz poniendo melodía a mis textos. También me pasó algo curioso, un compañero de trabajo dice que una de mis poesías le pertenecía a él, que parece que él mismo la escribió pues cuenta su historia, dice. Qué felicidad, verdad ?
Now every day I have a new emotion, the singer always sends me a voice message putting melody to my texts. Something curious also happened to me, a co-worker says that one of my poems belonged to him, that it seems that he wrote it himself because it tells his story, he says. What happiness, isn't it?
Por último algo muy curioso y hasta sorprende cuando hablo del libro por primera vez a casi 200 km de mi casa digo que le agradezco a una profesora que yo no veo hace más de 25 años, pero ella me estimulaba mucho la lectura y además me prestaba sus libros y me ponía a escribir textos y luego los corregía. Sorprendentemente un rato después me encuentro con ella, allí a 200 km de nuestras casas y nos abrazamos y ambas sorprendidas de tan bello encuentro.
Finally, something very curious and even surprising when I talk about the book for the first time almost 200 km from my home, I say that I am grateful to a teacher that I have not seen for more than 25 years, but she stimulated me a lot to read and also lent me her books and I started to write texts and then she corrected them. Surprisingly a while later I meet her, 200 km away from our homes and we embrace and we are both surprised of such a beautiful encounter.
