Enjoying a bath on a Shallow River

It's weekend once again and I hope everyone will have a great weekend!

As for me, I was not and will not be able to travel this weekend so I am digging out old photos of the good old times which I was not yet able to share with you guys.

It was last year when my husband brought me along with his sister and his sister's boyfriend on our close friend. He was buying fish for breeders and after the work that had to be made, we bathed on the shallow river.

The river was called Agusan River which origins from a two crossing river in Maambong, Libona. One of teh rivers came from the untouched forest and mountains in Libona Bukidnon and Sil-ipon, Libona, Bukidnon. The river stetched down through Agusan Canyon (where we bathed), to Damilag, to Menzi, to Alae, to Balubal, and down to Agusan CdO.

Here are the evidence of our enjoyment

There were no dress codes when bathing to a river but the longer your clothes are, the better because you might fall and scratch on the slippery stones around.

This post is following my husbands recently shared postabout how we had a boodle fight meal with fresh tilapia fish. That was the best treat! The experience is so much fun and unique.

Here are some of the fish they caught on the fish pond

And the lunch we all shared

I was actually reminded that I have not posted these photos because of my husband's post! Great to have a buddy in all that you do.

I was hesitant to have a dip in the river at first but I really had to take a bath since I helped the boys on catching fish on the muddy fish pond earlier that day.

We were on a canyon; and the temperature was relatively low on the one I usually have and the water on the river is very cold.

Also, having dark clouds above the sky scares me of flash flood on the river while bathing but my husband assured me that nothing alike will happen. And if so the flood would come, we will be noticing it before it reaches us since splurging water would cause noise smashing on the rocks on the river bed.

Then off the water I went. I dipped my toes on the water and boy, it was cold yet satisfying! I slowly dipped my body on the water looking for a stone to sit while allowing the pressure of the water to massage me.

The mild massage, lovely scenery and cold water, oh, and the relaxing sound of the water in the river made my weekend very special that day! All the weariness I felt over the week, all the stress my mind had been experiencing was instantly gone and refreshed.

Yet all good things had come to an end and we have to leave the river. Perhaps if we stayed longer, all the fish that we caught would have died.

We went all the way up the cliff without changing clothes, and experience I first had in my life and we traveled home with our clothes all wet too. It was an amazing adventure that not everyone can have and would dare to do.

Fortunately, majority of the fish we brought home were alive and those that died became our dinner; still a win win!

I really have an adventure spirit but I am mostly limited by my work and motherhood too. I hope that someday when the kids are grown and are ready for whatever adventures life may bring to us, we will do it as a family and I think it will be more fun to do it with them. I am looking forward to that day!

So that is how one amazing weekend had been part of my life! It was one of the best memories I had
