Diseño y confección de un conjunto para niño con retazos// Design and manufacture of a child's outfit from scraps of fabric[ESP-ENG]

Greetings dear friends of knitting and sewing that make life in this beautiful community, the truth is that I had some weeks that I did not share with you any work that I made because I was resting for some eye operations that were performed, however, if I took the opportunity to write about other issues on the platform so that it did not contravene my medical indications.

So this time it is a pleasure for me to share with you the cutting and making of a boy's outfit with two scraps of fabric I had from other works, some small scraps and others a little bit bigger of the checkered fabric, which I thought could be enough for the top part, that is the jacket, also with the light blue color for the pants, but I'll tell you about it.

Cutting the pieces

With the patterns already drawn I decided to check if they were really enough as I had thought, but then I realized that in the case of the jacket I did not even have enough for the sleeves and less for the hood, then placing the patterns I realized that in the case of the sleeves I had to fold the pattern 5 cm and cut it like that, then I had to make cuffs of that length with another cut of the same fabric, the cuffs are made double.

Saludos estimados amigos del tejido y de la costura que hacen vida en esta hermosa comunidad, la verdad que tenía algunas semanas que no les compartía algún trabajo que realizara debido a que me encontraba de reposo por unas operaciones de la vista que me realizaron, no obstante, si aprovechaba para escribir sobre otras cuestiones en la plataforma de tal forma que no contraviniera mis indicaciones médicas.

Por lo cual en esta oportunidad es un placer para mí compartirles el corte y confección de un conjunto para niño con dos retazos de tela que tenía de otros trabajos, unos retacitos pequeños otros un poquito más grandes de la tela de cuadros, que vistas a ojo pensé me podrían alcanzar para la parte de arriba es decir la casaca, igualmente con el color azul claro para los pantalones, pero ya les cuento.

Con los patrones ya trazados me dispuse a comprobar si realmente me alcanzaban como lo había pensado, pero entonces me doy cuenta de que en el caso de la casaca no me alcanzaba ni siquiera para las mangas y menos para la capucha, entonces colocando los patrones me doy cuenta de que para el caso de las mangas tuve que doblarle al patrón 5 cm y cortarla así, entonces tenía que realizar unos puños de ese largo con otro recortico de la misma tela, los puños se realizan doble.

I also realized that the hood didn't come out with the plaid fabric either, so I decided to leave it last to make it with the trouser fabric if it was enough, but first I had to cut the pants and then see about the hood, otherwise I would make it without a hood.

I proceeded with the cut of the pants, then there when I placed the pattern of the pants in it I realized that it was not enough for the total length of the pants so I would also have to make cuffs at the bottom of the pants to get the desired length, which in the case of the pants were 4 cm what I folded to the pattern and that way I made the cut; with the small cuts of the fabrics make the cuffs, with each one of the respective colors, also make the cut of the hood with the light blue fabric, that is to say the one of the pants and this way it looks much more like a set.

También me di cuenta de que la capucha tampoco salía con la tela a cuadros por lo cual decidí que la dejaba de último para realizarla con la tela del pantalón si alcanzaba, pero primero tenía que cortar el pantalón para luego ver lo de la capucha, pues de lo contrario la haría sin capucha.

Proseguí con el corte del pantalón, entonces allí al colocar el patrón del pantalón en él retaso me doy cuenta de que tampoco alcanza para el largo total del pantalón por lo cual también tendría que realizarles puños en la parte inferior del pantalón para obtener el largo deseado, que para el caso del pantalón fueron 4 cm lo que le doble al patrón de esa manera realice el corte; con los recortes pequeños de las telas realice los puños, con cada uno de los respectivos colores, igualmente realice el corte de la capucha con la tela azul claro, es decir la del pantalón y así se parece mucho más a un conjunto.

The first thing was to sew the sides and shoulders and then zigzag both seams for a better finish, then I closed the sleeves and placed them to the body, then I placed the cuffs to the sleeves.

Costura a máquina de las piezas

Lo primero fue coser los costados y hombros y luego pasarle un zigzag por ambas costuras para un mejor acabado, luego cerré las mangas y las coloque al cuerpo, seguidamente les coloque los puños a las mangas.

Next, I started to make the hem of the jacket, for this I first zigzagged the whole contour of the house, then with some pins I marked the hem and then sewed with a zigzag.

Seguidamente, me dispuse a realizar el dobladillo de la casaca para ello primero le pasé un zigzag a todo el contorno de la casa, luego con unos alfileres fui remarcando el dobladillo para luego coser con un zigzag.

Then I joined the two parts of the hood and made the front hem and then proceeded to join it with the rest of the jacket, I took advantage of the opportunity and placed a strip for a better finish on the front in the same light blue tone.

Luego uní las dos partes de la capucha y le realice el dobladillo frontal para luego proceder a su unión con el resto de la casaca, aproveche y le coloque una tirita para el mejor acabado en el frente del mismo tono azul claro.

To sew the pants, the first thing I did was to join the front and back seams and zigzag them, then the sides, that is to say, the side seams joining front and back and then I zigzagged them for a better finish.

Para coser el pantalón lo primero que hice fue unir las costuras de tiro tanto trasero como delantera y pasar zigzag, luego los costados, es decir costura lateral uniendo delantero con trasero y luego le pasé un zigzag para mejor acabado.

Next, proceed to sew the crotch seam and finish it with a zigzag.

Seguidamente, proceder a realizar la costura de entrepiernas y rematarla con un zigzag.

Then I proceeded to close the cuffs to place them at the bottom of the pants.

Luego procedí a cerrar los puños para colocarlos en la parte baja del pantalón.

Next, to hem the waistband to insert the elastic, I first zigzagged it and then pinned the required width according to the elastic I had determined in the cut, which for this pant was 3 cm.

Seguidamente, para realizarle el dobladillo en la parte de la cintura para introducirle la goma, primeramente, le realizo un zigzag y luego fije con alfileres el ancho requerido de acuerdo al elástico que había determinado en el corte, que para este pantalón fue de 3 cm.

I sewed by machine the width required to insert the elastic, then I inserted it and joined the ends with zigzag stitches and then sewed the opening I had left to insert the elastic, in this way I finished the pants.

Cosí a máquina el ancho requerido para introducir el elástico, luego lo introduje y uní los extremos con puntadas zigzag y luego cosí la abertura que había dejado para introducir el elástico, de esta manera culminaba el pantalón.
