Hello #Hive photography lovers friends!... Here in my hometown was raining all weekend, we literally had 48 hours of continuous rain, so all my photographic activity was limited to scrolling through my photo archives sitting in front of my PC... But today's morning was something totally different, the sun was shining brightly in a sky with an impeccable blue colour, so I decided to take advantage of this weather change and take my old bike to go for a ride and breathe some fresh air and oxygen!....
¡Hola amigos amantes de la fotografía en #Hive!... Aquí en mi pueblo estuvo lloviendo durante todo el fin de semana, literalmente tuvimos 48 horas de lluvias continuas, así que toda mi actividad fotográfica se limitó a hacer recorridos por mis archivos de fotos sentado en frente de mi PC... Pero el amanecer de hoy fue algo totalmente distinto, el sol brillaba alegremente en un cielo de azul impecable, así que decidí aprovechar el cambio de clima y tomar mi vieja bicicleta para salir a pasear y a respirar aire fresco y cargad de oxigeno!...
Obviously I took my camera with me, because lately I am very careful to take it with me whenever I go out... My main intention this time was not to take pictures, as my main objective was to exercise. So I headed northeast of the town and took the narrow road that leads to Aguirre, a small hamlet 7 kilometres away and once the main tourist centre of the municipality (that was in the 90's until the beginning of this century)... Today Aguirre is a place where a large part of the population has migrated and many of its once beautiful colonial houses are abandoned and in a bad state of conservation... So, although this is a very bad thing for the town, it is still a propitious situation to take some pictures with a certain drama and visual eloquence... And that's how I ended up taking these photos that I'm sharing with you today!...
Obviamente que llevé mi cámara conmigo, pues últimamente estoy muy pendiente de llevarla conmigo siempre que salgo fuera de casa... Mi intención principal esta vez no era tomar fotos, pues tenía como objetivo principal ejercitarme. Así que puse rumbo al noreste del pueblo y tomé la angosta carretera que lleva hasta Aguirre, un pequeño caserío a 7 kilómetros de distancia y otrora principal centro turístico del municipio (eso fue en los años 90 hasta principios de este siglo)... Hoy en día Aguirre es un lugar en donde gran parte de la población ha migrado y muchas de sus otrora bonitas casas coloniales se encuentran abandonadas y en mal estado de conservación... Así que, aunque esto es algo muy malo para el pueblo, no deja de ser una situación propicia para hacer algunas fotos revestidas de cierto drama y elocuencia visual... ¡Y así fue como terminé haciendo estas fotos que comparto hoy con ustedes!...
The strong sunlight and the conditions of the walls, doors and windows combined to allow me to take these photos and I decided to process them in colour. I hope that these images convey both the conditions of the town and the way it looks in this kind of weather... There is plenty to photograph in Aguirre, even though it is a small hamlet whose decline seems to be irreversible...
La fuerte luz solar y las condiciones de las paredes, puertas y ventanas se conjugaron para que yo pudiese hacer estas fotos y decidiese procesarlas a color. Espero que estas imágenes transmitan tanto las condiciones del pueblo como la manera como luce bajo este tipo de clima... Hay bastante para fotografiar en Aguirre, aún a pesar de ser este un pequeño caserío cuyo decrecimiento parece estar siendo irreversible...
ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografías capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
