Hi, I am Iris from Indonesia! I am still a newcomer but truly I enjoyed sharing stories on this app! My job requires me to travel around rural areas in East Java, Indonesia and also walk a lot since I visited big factories as a part of the QA team.
So today I need to visit two factories which are located in different cities. So I woke up early to catch the morning bus to go to the first factory. The trip was smooth and after I arrived at the central bus station, I had to call an online motorbike taxi or ojek to reach the factory. The weather was pretty nice in the morning, however the temperature already reached 29° C at 9 AM. It took me about 30 minutes to ride from the central bus station to the factory.
We are reviewing new products today, it is still at the development stage so we have to make sure everything is perfect. I had a shipment to catch next week and luckily we didn't have any major issues. So I got plenty of time to reach my second destination.
Since today is Friday, we have a long lunch break for Friday prayer that is observed by Moslem people. The majority of Indonesians are Moslem, so many people go to the mosque to pray on Friday noon. My colleague is also a Moslem, so I need to wait until he is done because I ride along with him.
By the time we were ready to go, it was already 12.30 PM. The sun was scorching hot and the temperature reached 32° C. So we decided to take an alternative road rather than hit the main road, because it will be very hot with traffic jams everywhere, and also full of pollution.
The road that we take is relatively new. It used to be a marsh area that was dried up and filled with soils. It is a bit farther than using the main road, but it has plenty of shades from big trees and not as busy as the main road. You still can see marshes and small rivers on the sides along the way.
Sometimes you also can find random rice fields in the middle of housing complexes and industrial complexes.
During the trip, I was amazed by the sight of two women riding a motorbike while bringing so many goods. Perhaps she just did some shopping for her shop or what. It is amazing how they can balance everything between them. Hopefully they can arrive at their destination safe and sound.
By the time I arrived at the second factory, it was already 2 PM. I still have a lot of office work, so I hurry and get all my reports and other administrative work done. I went home pretty early today and did some house chores to prepare for the weekend. Yes, TGIF and tomorrow is time for a new adventure with my little boy.
