This week is the end of the chess season in Hive, hivechess is over after a series of very tough tournaments where I feel I have made a pretty decent effort to be in the top places.
But there is still something I can do and that is to move up in rating to be with the big leagues on the board, a while ago I had that same rating in blitz but I guess I lost it.
now I'm doing a marathon of games to get back those numbers, here are the most interesting ones
Almost dead from the start
there is something challenging and beautiful about starting a game at a disadvantage, I think it is easier to recover from a disadvantageous situation when you have all your pieces deployed than when they are not.
in this case I started playing a lousy opening, you could almost say it was a troll, and then I was in a bad position and then in the end I was able to overcome it, just barely.
if you can't win, just hold on
Blitz is a fun game mode for several things, one of them is to have a time limit to play, you always have a pressure that will push you to rush with one move or another.
it also means that if you are lost in position you can still have a chance of winning, just watch the clock, make the most aggressive and annoying moves possible and hope your opponent is not in a good position that day, I've won a couple of games in my life, including this one.

sometimes during a game there are unique opportunities to discover a real marvel on the board, combinations where after a sequence of forced moves you have the win are one of my favourites and can catch your opponent by surprise, here is a game where exactly that happened

if you play the French, this is a classic sequence of my plans there, I don't like too much the positional play he proposes so I try in every way to open the position as much as possible, to find us in a situation where the kings are on opposite flanks and I can attack freely with my pawns, that situation happened in this game and it gives you to understand why you can't ignore my attack to go after my king.
