After 2 seasons of analyzing my earnings in Splinterlands, I decided it was time to change my strategy and rent more powerful cards and more SPS.
Previously, I was only playing in the Gold and Diamond leagues in the Wild format and every season I was at a loss because the price of the Battle Pass ended up taking away all my profit, so I decided to rent more SPS and cards at the maximum level to try to reach higher leagues and improve my earnings in the season.
- I am currently renting 100,000 SPS and for now I will use this season as an experiment to see what is the best amount of SPS for me to have good earnings in ranked battles.
My average earnings in ranked battles are 2.7 SPS and 800 Glint per victory, previously I was earning half of that amount by renting 70,000 SPS, but I was playing in the Diamond 3 league and now I am playing in the Diamond 1 league and that is why the earnings have increased significantly. For now, my earnings are decent, but I think I can improve them even more if I rent more SPS and reach higher leagues like Champion 3 or even Champion 1. But before I invest in renting more SPS, I want to see how far my current deck can go. Depending on which league I stagnate in, I'll rent better cards to be able to climb even higher and increase the amount of SPS I rent.
My goal is to have at least double my current earnings in ranked battles. I believe that with this amount I can make a profit and I'll still have a large amount of Glint to spend opening Loot Chests and thus increase my collection of Soulbounds cards.
Now that I'm playing in the Diamond 1 league, the challenges have increased and most players use cards at the maximum level, so the battles are competitive and reaching the Champion 3 league isn't easy. But I won't give up and I believe it's more competitive now because the season started recently, so all players' leagues have been reset.
Link to the Battle
This is an example of a battle I had in the Diamond 1 league, it was not an easy battle and I had to use one of my favorite strategies to come out victorious.
My strategy is not very focused on attacking but it is very effective in battles, especially against the Explosive Weaponry rule.
In this battle there are 3 rules and they are: Aim True, Fire & Regret and Explosive Weaponry.
Aim True - In this rule all monsters will receive the True Strike ability and this means that they will have a 100% chance of hitting the attack.
Fire & Regret - In this rule all monsters will receive the Return Fire ability and this means that they will deal part of the ranged damage received back to the monster that attacked them.
Explosive Weaponry - In this rule, all monsters will receive the Blast ability, which means they will deal 50% of the damage to monsters adjacent to the monster they attacked.
My strategy works in a way that I protect my Frontline, preventing it from being defeated and my backline monsters from taking damage.
For the strategy to work, I use the summoner Lily Shieldpaw, she will give the Camouflage ability to all my monsters, which means they will only be targets of attacks when they are in the first position.
With my monsters having the Camouflage ability, I don't need to worry too much about the backline, so to defend my frontline I selected Almo Cambio and Baakjira, both of which are monsters with a large amount of attack and will be very useful against the Explosive Weaponry rule, since Almo Cambio will defend in the first position and receive all the attacks, while Baakjira receives the damage from the Blast ability and heals with its Heal ability.
With this strategy, I was able to defend myself from all of my opponent's attacks without losing any of my monsters. Another monster that was very important in this battle was Merdaali Guardian, who healed Almo Cambio with his Tank Heal ability, which prevented him from being defeated in the battle.
After eliminating Wave Brood, which was my opponent's most problematic monster, I was able to easily get past his defenses until Baakjira was the only monster left in the battle. After several attacks, he couldn't resist and was also defeated, making me victorious in this incredible battle.
In addition to being more competitive, battles in the higher leagues are a lot of fun and I love creating new strategies to compete with other players.
