Hi ASEAN Hive Community friends, it's been a long time since I shared with you, I hope you are happy and always healthy. How many days ago, many Muslim friends celebrated Eid al-Fitr and many of them returned to their hometowns to gather with their loved ones. Before writing further I. Wishing Muslim friends, especially ASEAN friends, a happy Eid al-Fitr, hopefully the fasting that has been undertaken will receive blessings from God.

There are many traditions carried out during Eid al-Fitr, usually the most important is cooking ketupat, lontong, making various other delicious dishes.

Making dry cakes like pineapple is also not left behind, of course. Apart from that, sharing is also a tradition, usually given to small children who visit each house. It sounds very fun, right? Even though I'm not a Muslim, I feel the same way because most of my family are Muslims so I feel the excitement of Eid.

This year I stayed at home, coincidentally I didn't go back to my hometown in Java, Yogyakarta. Even though I'm not at home, my mother here gave me Eid dishes by my neighbors and close relatives.

I want to tell you about the typical Eid dishes.

    Eid ketupat

It contains rice wrapped in coconut leaves which are shaped in such a way that the method of cooking is by boiling for approximately 6-8 hours. Ketupat is usually made during certain events such as Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Fitr and also big days in regional traditions.

    Sayur Godog

This vegetable is usually made by Betawi people or native Jakartans. The taste tends to be sweet and thick, cooked with coconut milk and spices. The vegetables used are mixed vegetables such as young papaya, long beans, petai, tempeh. This vegetable is a friend to eating ketupat

    Tape ketan and Uli

Tape ketan and uli tape are something that is a must, especially for native Jakartans or Betawi residents. Tape ketan is a dessert made from glutinous rice and then fermented, while uli is processed glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk and grated coconut, then pounded until smooth and molded. How to eat it can be eaten directly or grilled.
