I just don't get better when it comes to scheduling my screen time🤦‍♂️

We've all got one addiction or another in life that we battle so hard to control, yet, it seems like we've not started doing anything and that's what screens are to me, they are my addiction! I can't even say otherwise because that's the truth.

I really don't have a particular time mapped out that I spend on screens for a day because it all depends on how the day's activities went...

For the days I will go to school, I will definitely spend less time on the screen because I'll be busy with school activities but then for the days I'm at home during weekends, it's all me and my screen.

The screen has a lot of things I am interested in and that's exactly why it's so hard for me to stop....

Just for instance, it's matchday again today(England Premier League), even though I have the right to say I don't want to watch any of the matches, but honestly, I'm not doing it because i love watching it and my screen time keeps counting, lol.

To make matters worst, the world has gone all digital and most of our textbooks which are very costly are easily accessible on the Internet, even though I prefer reading a hardcopy text, I can't do so because I can't get the texts since they're very costly, hence, the only alternative is to download them online and read them with my screens (either laptop or phone) and hence, the screen time keeps counting also....
There's never an end for real, lol

How Do You Know When You've Had Enough?

The only regulator I have all things been equal is when my battery goes down and there's no source of charging it, but say there's a source, I have never pressed my phone to any extent and willingly said ,"I am Tired"...

    Regulating My Screen Time

This will really be hard but then, for anything anyone puts his mind to, it's very achievable.

Regulating My screen time will obviously start with a mindset shift! Making a conscious decision that I want to reduce it will be the first step to actualising this.

Constantly reminding myself of the side effects that could come from excessive exposure is also a great way for me to reduce my screen time because it's definitely scary, lol

Also, by getting the hardcopy of most texts I need would obviously make me give the time I would have spent on the screen reading them.

Watching just my club and the fixture of the week is a great way also rather than watching almost every fixture.
Actually, I do this during exams and it's quite effective.
In the days I am free, I usually dedicate my Saturdays to football (both playing and watching) and it ends by 10pm sometimes, lol.
By minimizing the amount of time I spend on watching these, definitely my screen time will reduce.

Regardless, It's a great thing to have self control over everything you do especially when the moments call for it.

Thanks for reading and have a nice day
