The Life in Trees

    Look at a tree
    It’s just a tree, right?
    Branches, leaves, roots, bark
    Simple.
    But the closer you look,
The more it pulls you in,
Like life does when you stop
    And really pay attention.

    Its roots are hidden,
    Twisting through dirt and stone,
    Searching, holding, feeding
    All that unseen work
    So it can stand tall.
    Makes you wonder,
    What’s holding you up?

    The trunk?
    It’s rough, scarred,
    Weathered by storms
    And carved by time.
Yet it stands, proud and steady.
    Life does that to you,
    Leaves marks,
    But those marks?
    They’re proof you’ve lived.

    And the branches
    Stretching out,
    Some strong, some thin,
    Some broken but still reaching.
    A tree doesn’t grow perfect.
    Neither do we.

    Then there are the leaves
    Always moving,
    Always changing,
    Turning toward the sun
Or falling when the time is right.
They teach you that letting go
    Is part of growing.

Trees are simple until you look deeper.
    Life’s simple, too,
    Until you start living it.
    Roots, scars, reaching, letting go

    All tangled up,
    Messy but beautiful.

So next time you see a tree,
    Don’t just pass it by.
    It’s not just standing there.
It’s showing you how to live.
