Good evening dear hivers, I hope you had a fun weekend. Below I share with you my participation in the fantastic challenge proposed by our friend @galenkp. All the questions are very interesting, but I chose the one I felt most identified with because of my personal experience.

Would you have cosmetic surgery to enhance your body or not?

I always thought it was an excellent idea to undergo cosmetic surgery to improve the parts of my body with which I felt dissatisfied. On several occasions I looked for quotes in different clinics to have breast surgery, years ago when the fashion for large breasts started I thought it was great to be able to leave the operating room with a larger size in my breasts. Whenever I had the budget in my hands and the money in my bank account to make the decision there was something that stopped me. After thinking about my personal reasons for not making the decision, I came to the conclusion that I did not want to assume the risks involved in undergoing surgery, the most important one being the reaction to anesthesia.

At that moment I started to work on my self-esteem, in order to achieve acceptance of that part of my body. It was a very enriching process, since in the therapies I received I was able to identify many aspects in which I felt dissatisfied and I came to the conclusion that the problem was not the size of my breasts, but that I had to work to improve and overcome my insecurities. When I finished my therapy sessions, I was pleasantly surprised to feel acceptance in that part of my body, I was able to see myself in the mirror and love my nakedness. This personal experience happened many years ago, since then my self-esteem has remained at a level where there is only room to feel confident and comfortable with every part of my body.

I do not criticize people who undergo surgeries, I particularly would not undergo a cosmetic surgery, since I am very fearful of the operating room and I would not want to assume the risks of a bad intervention and the possible sequels that a bad surgery could leave. I think it is important to achieve a mental balance, where acceptance occupies the first place and then we can understand that we must always have a good attitude with this feeling not find physical defects that can generate feelings of discomfort, insecurity and sadness. That is why the motto: healthy mind, healthy body.
