Friendship is a beautiful thing when you experience it with the right persons. I am glad that I have experienced and still experiencing great friendship is from people all over the world both physical and distant. One thing I have come to realize is that, one cannot live in this world from birth to death in isolation, in one way or another we need people be it families, friends or strangers to live life fully. Even as an introvert, I have made friends that have made meaningful impacts in my life, friends that have been there in my lowest and in my highest, in pain and in joy. From my experience When the friendship is onesided it is always frustrating and weighs an individual down 5o a point that they slip away, this is why communication is key in whatever we do and wherever we find ourselves.
I have had memorable friendship experiences right from when I was born, at this point I can relate with every episode in my life so far the kind of friends I have had. I have childhood friends that we played in the sands together, the nursery and primary school times where we played games, played ball during breaks and some old school games, how we would walk together to attend lectures and even church activities. Also, during high school times, I had friends that we would study together, have fun together, eat together, fetch water together and do most stuffs together. Again, during my university days, I had friends that we were both there for each other, colleagues in class, fellowship members, housemates and so on.
Many memorable experiences with my friends are always coming up because I cherish those moments and I have some pictures to relieve those memories.
BESTIES IN SCHOOL
The four of us were so close back then in my first university and our friendship has lasted over ten years and we are still in touch , although two of them have travelled out of the country and two of us are still in Nigeria. We always had fun together and always took these kind of pictures together, for this singular act we were know amongst our colleagues.
Also, this is a picture I had with my friends who came out to celebrate with me on my birthday, I can't finds the guys picture so will have to make do with this. On this day, I was really not ready to celebrate this much but when I called out to my friends they were really supportive and I loved it, it was practically the first time I celebrated my birthday in adulthood. Looking back now, I am glad I didn't miss these opportunities to make good memories with friends and have something to hold on to.
NYSC SERVICE MEMORIES WITH FRIENDS
This is a picture from when I was serving during my national youth service, a time in every graduates life where it is compulsorily necessary to leave your parents house and move to an entirely different space to serve your country. When I was leaving home, I was skeptical and at the same time nervous because I was going to a n entirely different place where I don't know anyone, how was o going to survive. But luckily for me, I met some cool people and we vibed throughout the three weeks in camp, it was fun. The more interesting part was when I got my place of primary assignment and made lovely friends and we are still in contact and look out for every one ,seven years later. The picture above is my fellow corpers back then who are now friends.
FRIENDS FROM MY MASTERS DEGREE PROGRAM
The picture above consists of my friends when we defend our masters project. Every one was nothing but amazing during this period, we practically worked together to attain success in our Education. One thing that stands out of my friendship was the time i was urgently rushed to the hospital and my friends readily provided for me, took care of me and even did my laundry. One of them even had to spend the night in the hospital despite the cold weather, I am always grateful for them because I wonder what I would have done without them. During the course of our study, I also remember staying with a friend to tend to her needs as she was down with malaria until she got better. I am a person who love to appreciate and show gratitude, that even till date, I still chat them up to appreciate for taking care of me in a land where my family members were far away.
Friendship is truly not something you can buy or get overnight, you have to build and nurture it if you want it to be a memorable one, so it won't slip you by and make you regret it in the future. The people I call friends today are the ones I made over the years and it has been nothing short of amazing. One time I remember I was in a predicament and they came through for , just like we do for ourselves, fond memories I can never forget.
