On Friday I got up late. Got the post up, and got the kitchen cleaned up and a shower before my helper friend arrived at 8AM. Our supervisor was on the job as we prepared to set up the roundtop.
It took us about 2½ hours to do. Then we headed outside.
My helper had gotten started on the Little Trees 9.Contender peach before I could get out there. We got most of the mess cleaned out of the center of the tree and defined the scaffolding better. It’s still leaning but we will be trying to get the other side to fill in.
Then we moved over to the Little Trees II 6. Reliance peach. We created 3 layers of scaffolding so I hope it’s open enough. It was much easier getting the cage back on it.
New West alcove, the violets are up
We went back inside and checked out how to prune plum trees. I am hoping to do those on Tuesday. He left at noon and I got ready to go to an event at the Senior Center.
I’ve mentioned these 2 performers before, The Ben and Ed Show. They are so upbeat and happy; it’s just so nice to see something like this. From there I went to PT and got in early and was home by 2:45PM.
I sat down to rest and about a half hour later the contractor arrived to start work repairing the bulkhead.
One of the door’s hinges had gotten broken and he spent quite a while trying to fix it. But the door is heavy, the metal old and rusted, and it broke again. So back to the drawing board.
I’d put on my warm coat, but I got chilled out there. Once he had gone, I got the poor cat fed, the shades pulled the fires going, and made supper. I was in bed by 9PM.
On Saturday I have to empty the trash shed. It’s supposed to rain off and on all day, but there’s a not rain period between 7 – 8AM, so I will be out there then in hopes of finishing and not being cold AND wet. Not much else planned for the day.
