PRIORITIZING EYE CARE AND OVERALL WELLNESS

in voilk •  3 months ago

For whatever reason, I wanted to address this in the guise that I spend very little time on my screen. But that's not true. I spend so much time on my screen and besides, what if someone who knows me personally on here sees it. They'll definitely disagree. Wouldn't change nada, I guess, but well..
I can only just say that I have some sort of control over how I use my time and my space and the screen too.

To tell this matter-of-factly, my screen time is every time I have my phone in my hands. I, like a host of many others always are in custody of their phones as lots of my transactions and dealings are connected to this device. I get to use it a lot.

I haven't exactly done any studies as to how many hours exactly I spend, I could still tell by the bits and pieces of time when I have my device on hand and in use. And by that, I can say that I spend quite a lot of time.

From reading materials especially those related to academic work, using the internet, to reading novels, to making payments and transactions to doing whatever, I use that stuff a lot. And now I feel like my eyes stay glued to my screen far more than it does on any other place.

And I suffer. I suffer for it. My physical dealings like study only suffer this a bit, and that happens in the few times that I let it. But more, my eyes suffer. I already suffer a defect of vision which can become really bad making my head ache, vision blurred, eyes squint and struggling to make out written words and faces. Even with my glasses, it doesn't help much especially if I stay long on it without practicing the five minute(hope I'm correct) rule where I look away from the screen and to a far distance in order to clear and balance out my vision. So imagine what it's like without the glasses altogether. Frankly, I do not ever use my device without my glasses. it's no point because I may see nothing.

And well, I just know it's time to take a break whenever I do. Because I don't spend my time merely scrolling through, I make plans for what to do and when. You know, in this present day and time, our devices are our workstations, academic stations, they are the most place where we catch up on the most fun too and well,, technology is the rave now.

I have learned, by the negative effect long screentime has on my person, to take breaks in-between, use my glasses often(or a ray-block glass, for those who don't go with prescribed glasses) and also to use the screen in a well-lit room inorder to avoid all the light ray from the screen getting into my eyes. The last tip Is important to adhere by.

In fact, i dont need too much prompt to know when to take a break. I've learned enough to.
