Don't mind the title, this post will be about my sleeping habits. Everyone sleeps, but the difference is how we sleep, when we sleep and how long we sleep. Maybe how much we love to sleep counts as well. I've been seeing reasons with the fact that children gets to sleep more than adults because they have less worries.

Growing up, dad would always want us to spend more time sleeping or studying, it was either one or the other. Now that I think about, I wish I had taken the sleep part a bit more seriously, I would mostly choose studying to sleeping. It doesn't mean I didn't sleep a lot though, but it got worse as I grew older with responsibilities to take care of.

To me, sleep is a luxury I am blessed with by God Almighty. I know it's important and how much it means to go about more days in life but somehow my body doesn't seem to agree with my thoughts when it's time to put it into action. Of course, we can't cheat nature and so some nights no matter how hard I try, I fall asleep without knowing... A Luxury indeed.

The many times I've had a good night's sleep, there are the dreams that have come to reality and many that just came to scare me especially when I'm about to face a new phase of life. I don't know if this happens to others too, dreaming of what you've thought so much about. It is why I call my dreams, a wonder to what will be tomorrow.

I'm one of those whose dreams come true but in the opposite and so far, it's been of great good in my life as the opposite to my dreams always end up a good one for me. I always think it is amazing to not just have a luxury sleep, but also have good dreams that you'll smile too. I rarely have nightmares thankfully so I appreciate my sleep more.

Recently, I've been finding more ways to enjoy the luxury given to me no matter how pressing my responsibilities are getting for me. I mean, life would continue if I should lose my strength today or worse, I die. So why not I appreciate God's given luxury by taking advantage of it? I'll share some ways I found that has proven to help improve my sleep habits.

Before now, I would sleep just anytime but now I set sleep and wake up time and try to keep to it. This has helped me function well and also keep to deadlines I have regarding other things I do.

I hated exercises until I found out it could improve my sleep habits, Physical exercises has helped boost my love for sleep and I'm loving the many other results I'm getting from this new actions of mine.

Drinking more water and avoiding alcohol is like a big boost for me. So even aside the fact that alcohol could damage our body tissues, it could also deprive our sleep and make us feel restless. I learnt that and I've been taking more water to keep my body relaxed and ready for sleep anytime.

One of the things that pushes me to appreciate sleep and find ways around it is because I've seen situations where sleep become very less of a priority for someone, some rely on drugs to get some sleep and others just fight sleep with all the energy drinks they can find just to get work done.

I don't know if I'll ever be like that but we never can tell and so, I try to appreciate the time I have to sleep now. A friend reminded me of this sometime ago too, it only makes sense that you sleep when you can and let your dreams take you to a better "another day".

This is my response to the Inleo prompt challenge "Dreams, sleep health and fantasy world" and you're invited to participate too.
