Pokemon TCG - Prize Packs Series Four Cards

in voilk •  5 months ago

Hi there. In this short Pokemon trading card game post I talk about the Series Four prize packs. These packs are not available for purchase in retail stores. You have to win these packs from local Pokemon trading card game tournaments. Local tournaments may even hand them out for free if you win games, include them as part of the tournament entry fee or if you win the small local tournament. The lowest risk strategy in my opinion would be attending free local tournaments and try to win some of these packs (even if you don't get 1st place).

Each booster prize pack contains six cards. Holographic cards have the Cosmos Holofoil except for the Pokemon V, VSTARs, VMAXes and Pokemon ex cards.

For the Play! Pokémon Prize Pack Series Four cards, the cards feature various selected cards from the Lost Origin expansion to Scarlet & Violet's Obsidian Flames expansion.

News source from Pokebeach. You can also find a list from Bulbapedia. Card list below.

    Notable Cards

The good cards in the prize packs would be staple cards or popular cards in the metagame. Here is my list of good cards:

From the above list, the top 5 would be Charizard ex, Pidgeot ex, Forest Seal Stone, Giratina VSTAR and Chien-Pao ex. Lugia VSTAR is pretty good too. Getting a Forest Seal Stone for example would save you 15 to 20 CAD compared to buying one on its own. Pidgeot ex would be a nice pull as that is around 10 CAD and it is hard to find I think. Giratina VSTAR is very popular these days. One copy is around 15 CAD I think in the Toronto area.

Here is another list of good cards from Prize Pack Series Four but you don't need them that much. It is because they are inexpensive in general and you can purchase them from a local card store.

It is not just about cost savings when it comes to getting certain cards from these packs. There are some popular cards out there that are hard to get in person. If you get some nice cards from these prize packs consider yourself very lucky. The more prize cards you accumulate you can build better decks and can avoid buying single cards.
