Onions, Alcohol & Football.

It is said that one man’s food is another man’s poison. And that's just the reality of life. Even twins who are born the same day, from the same mother and same womb all have their differences. One might like music and the other would hate it a lot. That's why we remain humans.

The same way we have our uniqueness is the same way we have our indifferences. When it comes to making a choice, maybe marriage is an example, someone might like a fat and chubby lady, while to someone else it's a capital NO. Their own choice might be slim and tall, some might prefer tall ones and for some, short ones are their interest.

Since I began to understand life better, I also found myself liking some things and not even wanting to get closer to them. Meanwhile, all of these things I might be mentioning are something they can’t do with.

    Onions.

I can't say exactly how many times I have written an article about my dislike for onions. Anytime I am asked what I don't like, then I make a post about sliced onions in my food. One funny thing about these onions is that I can take it when blended but when it’s sliced then it’s like I am taking poison.

I am the only one in the family that dislikes it. It took many years before I could win their heart. Most times I have suffered not being able to enjoy my meal because of sliced onions. My brother can eat it raw, my mum loves to take it, and my sister can't even cook without it. So I am like a goat in the lion's den.

Whenever the meal is served with sliced onions the sacrifice I will make is to take my time and shine my eyes brightly, then pick out all the onions in the food. There are times I won't pick them at all and whenever I mistakenly munch my teeth on it then I am vomiting all the meals I ate at that instant.

As time flew by, when Mum realized that my dislike for onions was so real, she would ask me to blend it so she could cook with it. Then gradually, our intake of onions reduced because of me. Only then I was able to eat satisfactorily.

    Alcohol

I don't like alcohol for anything. I get disgusted when I see people drink in stupor. I don’t feel for them when they get harassed and disgraced. But I take pity on their family and friends. I am always grateful to come from a background where alcohol is prohibited and then it never gave me the chance to even think of taking alcohol.

In addition to everything related to it, cigarettes, drugs, and many others, I realized I strongly dislike all of them together. It gives a sign of irresponsibility and selfishness. All of these things give no value to our health, they depreciate it, yet we still have some people carelessly having fun taking them.

    Football

I know this would sound weird for a guy like me to say he dislikes football of all sports. But we are just way different. My dad loves football so much, but I can recall myself using the newspapers he bought home to wrap my books and textbooks after which they are of no use to me anymore.

He would complain several times why we didn't read those papers, and whenever he switched the channel to the football station it was either I walk out or sleep off. I don't like football. The only aspect I watch in football is when I am chanced to watch finals. After that, it was over for football again.

I have tried several times to understand the tables and even understand how the tournaments and leagues run, but I failed repeatedly. So I felt football was not for me. Hopefully shortly maybe I will get to like football.
