El día de hoy quiero compartir algo que me tiene un poco preocupada, saben que tengo una gata de dos años o eso creo por qué la rescate de la calle, estaba muy delgada y me dió mucha tristeza cuando la vi por primera vez. Tener un gato nunca había estado en mis planes aunque siempre quise tener una mascota pero nunca pensé que mi gata Louis (es hembra y así se llama por el color de sus ojos) fuera a cambiar mi vida tan radicalmente. Es muy tierna aunque algunas veces prefiere estar en un lugar alto y alejada de las personas pero cuando le viene el celo es todo lo contrario, siempre quiere dormir conmigo y que la esté acariciando todo el tiempo.

Today I want to share something that has me a little worried, you know that I have a two year old cat or so I think because I rescued her from the street, she was very thin and it made me very sad when I saw her for the first time. Having a cat had never been in my plans although I always wanted to have a pet but I never thought that my cat Louis (she is a female and that's her name because of the color of her eyes) was going to change my life so radically. She is very tender although sometimes she prefers to be in a high place and away from people but when she is in heat she is the opposite, she always wants to sleep with me and to be petted all the time.
Siempre le damos su alimento y le cambiamos el agua para que esté sana, pero desde que la tenemos en la casa hemos pensado en esterilizarla, sabemos que es algo necesario y que la ayudaria a estar más tranquila y no tener que pasar por esa incomodidad de tener el celo. Pero en mi país es un tema complicado el llevarla con un veterinario, ya que el costo de la esterilización es muy elevado y todo lo que conlleva esto como las medicinas y los cuidados postparto son de alto costo. Obviamente sabemos que en algún momento tenemos que hacer esto por su bien, pero me da miedo llevarla algun sitio donde cobren más barato y que ella pueda perder la vida.
We always give her food and change her water to keep her healthy, but since we have her in the house we have thought about spaying her, we know it is something necessary and that it would help her to be calmer and not have to go through the discomfort of having heat. But in my country it is a complicated issue to take her to a veterinarian, since the cost of sterilization is very high and everything that this entails such as medicines and postpartum care are very expensive. Obviously we know that at some point we have to do this for her sake, but I am afraid to take her somewhere where they charge cheaper and she could lose her life.
Aunque luego de tenerla tanto tiempo con nosotros parece que cada vez le da menos fuerte el celo y le dura menos días, disfrutamos esos días porque ella se pone muy cariñosa y yo puedo tenerla cerca durmiendo conmigo, algunas veces en la madrugada me busca y se acuesta a mi lado, me parece muy tierno pero se que ella está agotada por todas esas hormonas de su cuerpo. Me gustaría poder reunir el dinero para hacerle la esterilización, poder cubrir con los gastos de las medicinas y también poder ponerle todas las vacunas que necesite y tenerla muy sana que es lo más importante para ella.
Although after having her with us for so long it seems that her heat is less and less strong and lasts less days, we enjoy those days because she gets very affectionate and I can have her close sleeping with me, sometimes in the early morning she looks for me and lies down next to me, I find it very tender but I know that she is exhausted by all those hormones in her body. I would like to be able to raise the money to have her spayed, to be able to cover the cost of the medicines and also to be able to give her all the vaccinations she needs and to have her very healthy which is the most important thing for her.
Hoy estuvo en su segundo día con el celo y le pude tomar unas fotos para que vean como está, no le gusta quedarse sola en esos momentos y cuando está sola suele irse a la puerta y se pone a maullar. Aún me parece mentira que tenga una gata tan hermosa y especial conmigo, siento que ella llego en el momento necesario para darnos mucho amor a todos. Amo tomarle muchas fotografías por lo que en este post les estaré dejando varias para que vean cómo está, la mayoría son abrazada a mi mano y también tratando de conciliar el sueño y poder descansar.
Today she was in her second day of heat and I was able to take some pictures so you can see how she is, she doesn't like to be alone in those moments and when she is alone she usually goes to the door and starts meowing. I still can't believe that I have such a beautiful and special cat with me, I feel that she came at the right time to give us all a lot of love.
