In some churches today, we see certain people being treated unfairly simply because of their low status. But they accord much respect to people with high status. God condemns such an act. Churches who behaves in this way neglects the true doctrines of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This was a mistake that went on in the early church and this is what James had to say about it:
James 2:3 - And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:
4 - Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
In the eyes of God, all men are equal. Therefore, everyone among us should be treated with equity. Money or status doesn't should not be the reason why you should view someone any less of another person. People who do this are doing it out of their own accord, because God would doesn't support such actions, let alone give them such instructions.
If partiality is seen in other places, it should not be seen in the church. No one likes to be treated unfairly. God said we should do to others how we want to be treated. If we won't like to be treated in such manner, then we shouldn't treat others either in that same manner. This is often the reason why some people feel inferior.
And this is wrong, considering that they are in the house of God; which is their father. We should treat one another equally.
