Sí, por aquí no se para de trabajar, y es que hemos hecho una pausa navideña para hacer algo que generalmente no interpretamos en la coral, pero que es mi verdadero fuerte. Tuvimos un maravilloso concierto pop con el artista venezolano Frank Quintero. Aunque no lo crean, nuevamente dejé pasar la oportunidad de fotografiarme con él, no parecen cosas mías, y esta fotografía de arriba del mes de Febrero sigue siendo la más cercana que tengo junto a él. Este artista es más de otros tiempos, aunque igual conozco varias de sus canciones. Cuando le hicimos una muestra musical en febrero no imaginamos que pronto tendríamos el privilegio de ser coristas en una de sus presentaciones.
Yes, it's non-stop work around here, and we took a Christmas break to do something that we don't usually perform in the choir, but which is my real forte. We had a wonderful pop concert with Venezuelan artist Frank Quintero. Believe it or not, I again passed up the opportunity to take a picture with him, it doesn't look like my thing, and this picture above from February is still the closest I have with him. This artist is more from other times, although I still know several of his songs. When we did a musical sample in February we did not imagine that soon we would have the privilege of being backing vocalists in one of his presentations.

Nos tocó cantar en los laterales del escenario, ya que eran muchas agrupaciones las que tocarían, así que fui de los pocos elegidos de la coral para estar en este evento, otros chicos tuvieron el privilegio de descansar, pero igual disfruté mucho el show... Lo único malo, y el motivo por el cual no lo perseguí para tener mi foto soñada era una migraña que se apoderó de mí cuatro días de la semana pasada. Aunque fueron muchos días de ensayo, el concierto se realizó el Jueves 21 de Noviembre en la Sala Simón Bolívar del Centro Nacional de Acción Social por la Música en Caracas, y participó la Big Bang Jazz, la orquesta Alma Llanera de música tradicional venezolana, la orquesta sinfónica, la coral nacional y la banda de Frank Quintero, mucha gente para hacer un gran trabajo.
We had to sing on the sides of the stage, since there were many groups that would play, so I was one of the few chosen from the choir to be in this event, other guys had the privilege of resting, but I still enjoyed the show.... The only bad thing, and the reason I didn't pursue it to have my dream photo was a migraine that took over me four days last week. Although there were many days of rehearsal, the concert was held on Thursday, November 21 at the Simon Bolivar Hall of the National Center of Social Action for Music in Caracas, and the Big Bang Jazz, the Alma Llanera orchestra of traditional Venezuelan music, the symphony orchestra, the national choir and Frank Quintero's band participated, a lot of people to do a great job.
Tampoco los voy a engañar diciéndoles que nos explotaron 🤣 en realidad cantamos cuatro canciones, así que fui más espectador que otra cosa, pero como estaba trabajando no tomé fotografías durante las funciones; digo las funciones porque hubo una primera el miércoles en privado que fue el ensayo general para la gran noche del Jueves. A nosotros los de la coral nos tocó cantar "Mi No Tiene Con Que", "Cuestión de Fe", el gran éxito "Canción para Ti", y mi favorita del concierto: "Mientras Pueda Soñar", que era la canción de una popular telenovela aquí en Venezuela que se llamó Amantes de Luna Llena.
I'm not going to fool you either by telling you that we were blown away 🤣 we actually sang four songs, so I was more of a spectator than anything else, but since I was working I didn't take pictures during the performances; I say the performances because there was a first one on Wednesday in private which was the dress rehearsal for the big night on Thursday. We in the choir got to sing “Mi No Tiene Con Que”, “Cuestión de Fe”, the big hit “Canción para Ti”, and my favorite of the concert: “Mientras Pueda Soñar”, which was the theme song of a popular soap opera here in Venezuela called Amantes de Luna Llena.

Esta de arriba fue la única fotografía que tomé, y fue en el ensayo general con público. Ese día también fue muy especial porque las personas asistentes son invitados de nosotros los músicos, así que nuestras madres y amigos estaban en el público, además de amigos de la televisión venezolana del artista. En momentos como estos es un lujo ser parte de la agrupación. Amamos la música académica, pero cuando se hacen eventos donde se mezcla el mundo sinfónico y otro género musical, ya sea rock o pop, o salsa, como nuestro concierto con Oscar de León en 2022 todo se torna más divertido. Yo bendigo todo esto y agradezco a Dios por ponerme tantas cosas bonitas en el camino. Voy a mi trabajo con una sonrisa y trato de dar lo mejor de mí, es imposible no disfrutarlo cuando me apasiona tanto y fueron tantos años detrás de ese sueño. La música siempre me sana y me reconforta, y este evento musical es otro gran ejemplo de ello 🙏
This one above was the only picture I took, and it was at the dress rehearsal with an audience. That day was also very special because the people in attendance are guests of us musicians, so our mothers and friends were in the audience, as well as friends of the artist from Venezuelan television. In moments like these it is a luxury to be part of the group. We love academic music, but when you do events where you mix the symphonic world and another musical genre, be it rock or pop, or salsa, like our concert with Oscar de Leon in 2022, everything becomes more fun. I bless all this and thank God for putting so many beautiful things in my way. I go to my job with a smile and try to give the best of me, it is impossible not to enjoy it when I am so passionate about it and there were so many years behind that dream. Music always heals and comforts me, and this musical event is another great example of that 🙏
