I love taking photos early in the morning and/or late in the afternoon. In other words...I love capturing the "first light" and the "last light" of day. I think my absolute favorite time is at sunrise.
But due to daily routines, it's not always possible to get out as often as I would like for those particular types of shots. Yet, I think I want to put in a more conscious effort to do so. I need to start planning better for these types of outings in advance. Currently, it's more like arriving at the weekend and then planning where to go for some photos when we have time available. If nothing is happening early in the morning..."well great, let's get some early morning photos tomorrow morning"...lol.
Anyway, today I would like to share some photos of an early morning, just after sunrise, on a beach in Umhlanga.
Umhlanga is a residential, commercial, and resort town north of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on the east coast of South Africa. Umhlanga is part of the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, which includes the Greater Durban area.
This photo was taken as we arrived at Bronze Beach just after sunrise.
Looking out over the ocean, enjoying the freshness of the morning.
Watching the sun rising higher, with some ships on the horizon...
Walking up north toward a little coffee shop where we were planning on having some early morning coffee, I took a sneak peek at the ocean through the bushes...
Finally, we arrived at the popular wooden walkway, taking you through the forest toward the Bike and Bean Coffee Shop.
From here, you just follow the walkway for almost 1 KM...
...until you arrive at the Bike and Bean Forest Cafè.
What can be better than a nice Cappuccino so early on a beautiful morning like this?
It was a warm, friendly atmosphere. Yet, everybody was talking relatively softly to each other as if nobody wanted to disturb the peaceful tranquility of the morning.
And that was our outing for the morning...an early, fresh morning, watching the sun rising over the ocean on the East Coast of South Africa.
Thank you for reading my post. I do appreciate it!
