Chasing Endless Summer Vibes in Fisheye Beach Illustration
Hello art friends,
I'm back sharing a new pen and ink sketch concept I drafted after a friend challenged me to illustrate the theme of "endless summer." I envisioned capturing the joy and freedom of perpetual sunny days at the beach from a unique fisheye lens perspective.
The composition places the viewer at sand level looking up towards a beaming sun and happy barefooted woman celebrating summer with hands raised to the sky. The curved distortion of the fisheye lens effect allows the shoreline to wrap around the scene. And rays streaming down from the radiant sun beam extend the summer energy throughout.
Starting with a basic pencil framework right on the page, I then went over the main outlines in ink pen. After erasing stray pencil marks, I built up detail work and custom hatching textures with a nib tip pen. The final pen drawing was then imported into Adobe Illustrator to refine certain spots and achieve clean vector lines.
Attempting an illustration with such an extreme warped perspective was a fun challenge. And the fisheye distortion let me really amplify the summer joy. Let me know if you feel the bright euphoria of endless summer emanating from this little concept sketch! As always, feedback welcome from my art friends!
