Hello friends. Today I stop by to show you a day full of beautiful family moments. And my cousin @mairimmorales won a big raffle at one of the largest supermarkets in our city and her prize was a freezer and $150 worth of food.
Estuvimos muy felices por ella, un logro muy emocionante, así que para celebrar, con su premio realizamos una rica parrilla, tenía morcilla, chorizo, carne, pollo, como acompañante ensalada de repollo , zanahoria y yuca. El premio también añadió una caja de cervezas, como mis tias y mi mamá son amantes a las cervezas las pusieron a enfriar para empezar a tomar.
We were very happy for her, a very exciting achievement, so to celebrate, with her prize we made a delicious grill, it had black pudding, chorizo, meat, chicken, as a side salad of cabbage, carrots and yucca. The prize also added a box of beers, as my aunts and my mother are beer lovers, they chilled them to start drinking.
Estuve muy feliz desde que me desperté porque sabia que íbamos a tener un lindo Sábado celebrando el premio de mi primita. Siempre los sábados que nos reunimos son mis días favoritos porque son los días de ponernos al día con todo lo que pasó en la semana en nuestras vidas y trabajos. Antes del mediodia llegamos a casa de mi abuela, para adelantar fui a buscar la caja de cervezas al apartamento de mi prima para traerla en la moto y así no dejarle ese peso a mi tía y prima. Al rato ellas llegaron y nos pusimos manos a la obra para hacer la parrilla. Yo empecé a rallar la zanahoria para la ensalada mientras mi mamá picaba el repollo. Mis dos tias estaban adobando la carne, picando el pollo, y luego prendieron el carbón.
I was very happy from the moment I woke up because I knew we were going to have a nice Saturday celebrating my little cousin's award. Saturdays when we meet are always my favorite days because they are the days to catch up with everything that happened during the week in our lives and jobs. Before noon we arrived at my grandmother's house, to move forward I went to look for the case of beer from my cousin's apartment to bring it on the motorcycle and thus not leave that burden on my aunt and cousin. After a while they arrived and we got to work making the grill. I started grating the carrot for the salad while my mom chopped the cabbage. My two aunts were marinating the meat, chopping the chicken, and then they lit the charcoal.
Teníamos bastante hambre así que mi prima y yo fuimos a comprar una chuchería para aguantar mientras se hacía la comida. Al regresar ya habían montado la rica parrilla y tocaba esperar que se hiciera, mientras esperábamos conversábamos de múltiples temas. La verdad mi prima es muy suertuda, este es el segundo premio que se gana en ese mismo supermercado.
We were quite hungry so my cousin and I went to buy a snack to hold us over while the food was being prepared. When we returned they had already set up the delicious grill and we had to wait for it to be done, while we waited we talked about multiple topics. The truth is, my cousin is very lucky, this is the second prize she has won in that same supermarket.
Mi tía era la encargada de darle vueltas a la comida y se colocó una tela en el cabello para que no le oliera al humo de parrilla.
My aunt was in charge of turning the food and she put a cloth over her hair so it wouldn't smell like grill smoke.
Al terminar de cocinarse todo empezaron a picar y a servir a cada una su porción. Nos sentamos a comer juntas. Estaba muy rica. Teníamos mucha hambre.
When everything was finished cooking, they began to chop and serve each person their portion. We sat down to eat together. It was delicious. We were very hungry.

Estaba muy deliciosa la parrila, y cuando la hace gente que amamos más todavía. Al terminar de comer reposamos, mis tias siguieron bebiendo las cervezas. Luego se pusieron a arreglarse los cabellos mientras conversaban y así fue transcurriendo la tarde, todas estábamos muy felices. Ya al terminar la tarde volvimos a nuestro hogar y así culminó el sábado de celebración 🥳
The grill was very delicious, and when it is made by people we love even more so. When we finished eating we rested, my aunts continued drinking the beers. Then they began to fix their hair while they talked and that's how the afternoon went by, we were all very happy. At the end of the afternoon we returned to our home and thus ended the Saturday celebration 🥳
