    Hey folks.

Previously, I discussed that hacks in the crypto world are now nothing new and scammers are looking for new ways to scam people in the crypto space.

According to a recent article published, crypto exchange FTX lost nearly half a billion dollars worth of crypto in a Sim-swap attack after filing for bankruptcy, according to Bloomberg, citing an indictment the US Department of Justice filed in a federal court in Washington.

Rober Power, Emily Hernandez, and Carter Rohn, who took part in a two-year Sim-swapping ring aiming at FTX, according to prosecutors.

The three individuals allegedly according to the indictment collected personal data from several victims, using the information to persuade cell phone providers to transfer the phone numbers of the victims to a fraudelent device under their control, and then text messages including multifactor authentication codes could subsequently be intercepted.

Although FTX was not specifically mentioned in the indictment, those acquainted with the case attested that the infamous cryptocurrency exchange was actually referenced as "victim company-1" in the court documents. According to prosecutors, Emily Hernandez on November 11, 2022, used a fake ID that contained details of an employee of the crypto exchange FTX to convince AT&T to transfer the mobile phone account to a different sim card.

Back in November 2022, the crypto exchange FTX made headlines when it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, revealing a shortfall of $8 billion in the accounts of the exchange, ultimately resulting in its official bankruptcy declaration.
