Even though one can show love by words or notes, gifts are what a lot of people use to show heartfelt gratitude and appreciation.
Gifts don't present physical importance but also appeal to the emotional senses of people.
It creates memories stemming from the thoughtfulness behind the gesture.
In this write-up, I share with you all the best gifts I've ever received and also a gift I'd love to receive. The best gift I've received so far that I remember was a gift I received from my mum on my 18th birthday.
At the time I was celebrating my birthday, there was a strong wave of financial difficulty around, especially for my mom. She had invested almost all her money into her business which was at its initial stage. Because of this, she was financially down.
I also didn't expect it since the day had almost ended and I was heading to bed. So it came to me as a surprise.
When I received it, I just couldn't stop smiling. I was overjoyed. If not for the fact that I'm a 'hard girl' I would have teared up (lol). I was so happy.
Another thing, I was broke during that period therefore, receiving that money during that time was such a blessing and relief.
It just dawned on me there and then how she thought so much of me even when she had so little. I then remembered what motherly love is like.
Don't get me wrong, I get great gifts for my friends and loved ones which I'm always so grateful but my mom's own was one of the best
Now to the gift I'd like to receive. To be honest, I don't have a preference for gifts. Most of the time for me, it's the thought that matters.
Once I find out you thought of me to the extent of gifting me something, you're good. I can receive notes and I'll be okay. I love notes but again, gifting me won't be a bad idea, after all, everyone wants gifts, right?
