THE VILLAGE DIARY:
Yesterday we were away, so I accompanied a group of our fighters on a reconnaissance mission to the north to detect and eliminate any approaching infected.
We had to travel a long way before finding a few wandering around in the forest, and we were able to test our combat tactics.
The two-man formation - a spearman to hold off and stare down the enemy, and a crossbowman to deliver the fatal blow to the head - proved effective in keeping us at a distance, but has its limits.
It's impractical to use in the forest, and if a second infected approaches, the pair is in danger.
We've therefore modified our combat tactics, using groups of 3, two spearmen and a crossbowman.
As for the difficulty of fighting in the forest, we're going to clear the forest around our village, and at the same time gain better visibility of the approaching infected.
Our carpenter/woodcutter @noctury will be leading this work today, so I'm asking everyone to get involved.

LE JOURNAL DU VILLAGE:
Hier nous étions absents, j'ai accompagné un groupe de nos combattants en reconnaissance vers le nord afin de détecter et éliminer les infectés qui seraient en approche.
Nous avons dû parcourir un long chemin avant d'en trouver quelques uns qui déambulaient dans la forêt et nous avons pu tester nos tactiques de combat.
La formation en binôme, un lancier qui tient à distance et fixe l'ennemi et un arbalétrier pour porter le coup fatal à la tête s'est avérée efficace et permet de se tenir à distance, mais elle a ses limites.
Elle est peu pratique à utiliser en forêt et si un deuxième infecté approche, le binôme est en danger.
Nous avons donc modifié la tactique de combat avec des groupes de 3, deux lanciers et un arbalétrier.
Pour la difficulté du combat en forêt, nous allons déboiser autour de notre village, nous gagnerons en même temps une meilleure visibilité sur l'approche des infectés.
Notre charpentier/bucheron @noctury s'occupera de diriger ces travaux aujourd'hui, je demande à tout le monde de participer.
