The "Learn... Share... Grow" model.

To be clear about the quality of what is embodied in any creative work is something that is said to be quite subjective. A painting I see and call "shit" or an artifact I see and call a "piece of junk" may turn out to be something that's well-valued by some other person. That's the crisis of creativity although it's also the beauty of it.

Somehow, I've noticed that it's very easy to discredit the quality of things if we do not know a lot about those things. The good news is that we can learn about the things we are uninformed about. When you learn, you will get to have more understanding and a better appreciation of that particular thing.

There's no harm in being more informed, right? That's part of the reason I chose to explore "learning" in this month's collaborative challenge which DreemPort is doing with the Creative Work Hour (CWH) Community. I didn't just dive into a learning adventure. I did it better by exploring the "Learn... Share... Grow" model.

    Learn... Share... Grow?

The nature of the relationships we see in a lot of environments is highly competitive and people are endlessly competing with each other to come out as Superior. In such situations, people end up hoarding the information they have just because they want to be the only ones with that information. And, they want to be the sole beneficiaries of the benefits that come from having that information.

"Learn... Share... Grow" teaches something different. I first heard about that during a Twitter space I frequented two years ago and it was a pleasure to get to understand that a model like this gives people a push to try and learn, and then share what they know with more people who would stand a chance to grow with the information they have at their disposal.

I've been taking this same approach in life and I've been able to learn so much through this model while also sharing what I know with others who could benefit from it.

How can this model be applied?

    1. Writing & Reading: This seems like the most obvious way to apply this model, especially with the wild belief that a lot of secrets are embodied in texts. Have you tried to read about things that are somewhat confusing to you? I remember when I first got into Cryptocurrency. Like most newbies, I didn't know Jack about it but I've been able to learn so much by reading a lot about different things related to Crypto.

Since I also have the opportunity to share the things I know through several digital platforms, I can write about the things I learned and the ones I'm learning. Doing that is a good way to share the knowledge with someone else who can benefit from it. It's even better when you can get feedback from the readers. I know I've received tons of those in the past.

    2. Social Audio: For someone who's not a native English speaker, being able to apply the model in social audio space wasn't an easy thing. It took extra effort and it had a bigger weight on me compared to writing. For the most part, I had to be sure I was getting the message when I was trying to learn something from someone who was speaking on a podcast, on a Twitter space, YouTube video, or even on a voice channel on Discord.

Being able to listen and learn is the first step when trying to apply the "Learn... Share... Grow" model through the social audio route. Sharing what you know through that same model is the next side of things. In my case, I've been lucky enough to be surrounded by a Community of people who encourage me to share my message vocally. They try to understand and make sense of whatever I'm saying and I've been able to grow my confidence, thanks to these people.

    3. Real Life: Of course! You also have to apply this in real life and I tend to approach this towards personal development. I often make effort to learn about the practices that I need to get myself accustomed to in order to improve my life and be a better version of myself. I try to learn things that will help me grow physically, financially, emotionally, spiritually, etc.

I'm also interested in being surrounded by people who are aiming high and trying to improve all areas of their lives. That's why I don't hesitate to share the things I know with people. If you need a health tip and I know my way around that, you can always be sure that I will give you those tips. Isn't that what the model is all about?

My recent application of this model.

I often say that we can hardly imagine how successful we would be at doing some things until we attempt to do those things. To be fair, things can also go sour, but we wouldn't know that until we give those things a try. I've used the "Learn... Share... Grow" model a lot in recent years, but I will limit my outline to just 3 most recent instances where I've been applying it.

    They are;

    1. Learning about Web3 outside Hive: As we already know, Hive is an amazing place to be and I'm all about the things that happen on Hive. We are still waiting for the bull run and all, but I know that there is more to Hive than just the buzzwords people throw around when trying to draw people to Web3.

I'm a big fan of what happens here, but I've also been intentional about exploring the world outside Hive to gain knowledge of what happens outside this ecosystem. I have a lot of YouTube channels that I follow and keep tabs to get info about what they are shilling or hyping in Web3 and Crypto as a whole. I also have my eyes on some challenges on Twitter (X).

The above screenshot holds an embedded link that sends you to the profile page of Web3 Global Media on X. I've been keeping my eyes on them and I've also been getting into their Twitter Spaces each week where they bring several Web3/Crypto projects onto their Speaker panel for an interesting shilling and grill section.

    2. Running The Thinker's Corner Challenge: This is a very interesting project that I started at the beginning of this year and the second month of the challenge was wrapped up a week ago. It's a thoughtful community-based writing project which encourages people to think about things in unconventional ways. We all get to learn from each other, share the things we know and hopefully grow more in knowledge and other areas of life.

I learned a lot by reading the entries made in the Thinker's Corner Challenge so far. January and February editions left me with a lot of interesting tips to learn and I've been doing my best to practice those. I also got to share my thoughts on the topics we've explored so far and I'm not even kidding... It feels good to step into the Thinkers Corner. Hehe.

    3. Figuring out a Crypto exchange alternative in case hell rains on Binance: This is a typical Nigerian issue with Cryptocurrency. Our government has tried in the past to have absolute control over Nigerians who are into Cryptocurrency. They succeeded in making life hard for folks, but they didn't succeed in forcing us to quit our involvement with Cryptocurrency.

Now, they are back again and the attack is on Binance. Nigerians are moaning on Twitter and I see that. I also discussed with some dudes a few days ago who expressed concern about how to cash out their Crypto for Naira if the government launches an attack on Crypto.

On my part, I've explored other alternatives that I would use to trade if all hell rains on Binance. At this very moment, what I will share with my Nigerians about this is that they shouldn't get into a panic dumping of their crypto assets. I know you are worried, but this too shall pass. Besides, Binance appears to still be active and functioning. So, no worries for now.

    Note To Self

After yesterday's edition of our meditation section in CWH discord, we were asked to draft a note to ourselves regarding this collaborative challenge. For me, that note is a simple yet sophisticated "keep learning, sharing, and growing". I've got to keep up this creative model.

Special thanks to DreemPort and Creative Work Hour for this collaborative challenge.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
