130km/h wind on a mountain top. My Actifit Report Card: April 1 2024

It’s great to be #aliveandthriving. The 3rd stage of my Easter hike started with a 1:30hrs climb. To say it was windy, would be a huge understatement. While we are between trees and even in the sub-alpine altitudes (ie. with bog pines), it was ok-ish (bearable and one could walk). Once in the open, however, each step was a fight against the wind (mostly head wind or coming slightly from our right). At one point I was not able to walk and put all my energy just into staying in place.

At the mountain top there was a low stone wall which gave us a bit of respite. Then we started our descent. The first steps were extremely difficult against the wind. But once we dropped to about 50m below to summit, we could walk normally. The rest of the descent was quite pleasant - in an old fir forest. Quite down there even if the wind raged above the tree tops.

    .

The rest of the trail was quite boring 18km almost on flat. The stretch would have been very panoramic if not for the air haziness the southern wind had brought.

Ps. I’ve just learnt that 49k and 51k were not enough to win the @poliac matches vs @browery and @benbow2017 on Saturday and Sunday respectively. What can I say? Congrats both! Chapeau bas! This ends any dreams of my first podium but still I’ll consider this season my best one in the great competition.

    • happy me ending the 85km, 3 days trail.
