Steel Wool In The Polar Vortex

With the polar vortex bringing lots of cold weather this last week, I have felt cooped up and could not resist getting out to shoot. Despite the temperature being -16c and a wind chill of -25c, I went to the Hamilton Sanatorium grounds. To spin steel wool on a few of the last remains of the buildings.

I set up at an old bridge over a stream and started to spin steel wool.

Unfortunately this last shot was the last steel wool one for the night. My spinner broke and couldn't be repaired on the fly. I then went to the road and started to set up for light trail shots, but within 5 minutes the cold killed my camera battery. Making this trip unsuccessful, until I checked out the steel wool shots. There wasn't many, but I was very happy with them.
