Since a few days ago I started to follow @introvert-dime who is doing the Daily riddle challenge, I have participated in two contests, and only because I know the answers, however, today June 30 in the daily riddle, I could laugh a lot, the reason was when I read the riddle I remembered that this riddle I knew why I was called that way, and it was my grandfather who many years ago explained me this riddle and it was engraved in my conscience.

I am aware that I have always been a man of short stature, but you can imagine when I was just a child, and when one is of short stature, the nicknames are very diverse, but one of the nicknames that most called me was thumb, to my bad luck in my childhood there was a cartoon that was called thumb, you can imagine for a child that it was not easy when they called me this way.

But as I said before my grandfather explained to me with a few words or a few words less, he stretched his hand and told me not to feel bad when they call me that way, because the thumb is a very important finger in a hand, honestly that did not reassure me much, but he also explained to me that the words of those children do not hurt me unless I let those words affect me, that was much more useful to me

Then I realized that we were five friends who were always together, and when we were standing next to each other, we looked at each other as if we were one hand. I just looked a lot like a thumb when I was with them, plus believe it or not, I was the one who carried the voice among the five of us, they told me this thumb commands more than all of us together, that made me feel very good.

By then I didn't suffer from any nickname that anyone else might give me, thinking that it would make me feel bad.

When I read the riddle that goes like this,

Desde hace uno pocos días comencé a seguir a @introvert-dime quien está realizando el Daily riddle challenge, he participado en dos concursos, y solo porque se las respuestas, sin embargo, el día de hoy 30 de junio en la adivinanza diaria, me pude reír mucho, la razón era cuando leí la adivinanza me acordé de que ese acertijo me sabía por qué a mí me llamaban así, y fue mi abuelo quien hace muchos años me explico ese acertijo y me quedo grabado en mi conciencia.

Estoy consciente de que siempre he sido un hombre de baja estatura, pero podrán imaginar cuando era apenas un niño, y cuando uno es de baja estatura, los sobre nombres son muy diversos, pero uno de los sobrenombres que más me decían era pulgar, o pulgarcito, para mala mía en mi niñez existía un dibujo animado que se llamaba pulgarcito, podrán imaginar para un niño que no era fácil cuando me llamaban de esta manera.

Pero como dije antes mi abuelo me explico con unas palabras o unas palabras menos, estiro su mano y me dijo que no me sintiera mal cuando me llamen de esa manera, porque el dedo pulgar es un dedo muy importante den una mano, sinceramente eso no me tranquilizo mucho, pero él también me explicó que las palabras de esos niños no me hacen daño a menos que yo dejara que esas palabras me afectaran, eso me sirvió mucho más.

Luego me di cuenta de que éramos cinco amigos que siempre estábamos juntos, y cuando estábamos parados uno al lado del otro, nos veíamos como si fuéramos una mano. Justo yo me parecía mucho al dedo pulgar cuando estaba con ellos, además aunque no lo crean practicante, yo era quien llevaba la voz entre los cinco, ellos me decían este pulgar manda más que todos nosotros juntos, eso me hacía sentir muy bien.

Ya para ese entonces no sufría por ningún sobrenombre que cualquier otra persona me pudieran colocar, pensando que eso me haría sentir mal.

Cuando leí el acertijo que dice así,

Es más corto que el resto, pero cuando estás contento, lo levantas como si fuera el mejor. ¿Qué es?

Simplemente, reí mucho porque me acordé de mi niñez.
