Hello, internet people, everything ok? Today I want to show you something I forgot to show you when I talked about my One Direction collection and it's more precisely one of their books. It is One Direction: Around the World.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy quiero mostrarles algo que olvidé mostrar cuando hablé de mi colección de One Direction, y es más precisamente uno de sus libros. Se trata de One Direction: La vuelta al mundo.
The book is written by a fan "Sarah Oliver" and is a compendium of stories from fans who had the chance to meet the members of One Direction in person in various ways. It is structured by country as the stories take place during one of the band's tours and each story is separated by the name of its protagonist (the fan in question)
El libro está escrito por una fan "Sarah Oliver" y es un compendio de historias de fans que tuvieron la posibilidad de conocer a los miembros de One Direction en persona de diversas maneras. Está estructurado por país, ya que las historias ocurren durante una de las giras del grupo y cada historia está separada con el nombre de su protagonista (la fan en cuestión)
In addition to the stories, the book has "did you know" or "trivia" boxes about the kids or about something specific that has to do with the story or the main character, which I found quite creative.
Además de las historias, el libro cuenta con recuadros de "sabías que" o "curiosidades" sobre los chicos, o sobre algo específico que tiene que ver con la historia o la protagonista, algo que me pareció bastante creativo.
It also has a section containing pictures of fan meetings (which I also quite liked) and some pretty creative things the fans did to get the boys' attention, from making a huge poster in the shape of a red English bus, to papering an entire car with little notes.
También cuenta con una sección que contiene fotografías de encuentros con fans (cosa que también me gustó bastante) y de algunas cosas bastante creativas que hacían las fans por llamar la atención de los chicos, desde hacer un cartel enorme con la forma de un autobús rojo inglés, hasta empapelar un auto entero con notitas.
The way I obtained the book is quite curious, and that is that my sister and I had attended the book fair to see what we could get (I found The Walking Dead comics but they were extremely expensive) and in the end we realized that all the items were too expensive, disappointed we ended up going up to the mall to entertain ourselves until my dad came for us (the fair was in the parking lot) and we ended up entering one of the bookstores in the mall, that's when we realized that Surprisingly, the prices in the bookstore were much more affordable than at the fair (which is ironic) and we both ended up buying a book, she a biography of García Márquez and I this One Direction book.
La forma en la que obtuve el libro es bastante curiosa, y es que mi hermana y yo habíamos asistido a la feria del libro a ver que lográbamos obtener (conseguí los comics de The Walking Dead pero eran supremamente caros) y al final nos dimos cuenta de que todos los artículos eran demasiado costosos, decepcionadas terminamos subiendo al centro comercial para entretenernos hasta que mi papá fuera por nosotras (la feria eran en el estacionamiento) y terminamos entrando a una de las librerías del centro comercial, ahí nos dimos cuenta de que sorpresivamente, los precios en la librería eran mucho más accesibles que en la feria (lo que resulta irónico) y ambas terminamos comprando un libro, ella una biografía de García Márquez y yo este libro de One Direction.
Although I no longer feel the same way about the band (and in fact the band no longer exists) and I've also been disappointed by some members such as Zayn, Niall and Harry for various reasons, I still like their old songs and I still find the book interesting when I read it again years later.
Aunque ya no siento lo mismo por la banda (y de hecho ya no existe la banda) y asimismo me he decepcionado de algunos miembros como es el caso de Zayn, Niall y Harry por diversas razones, aún me gustan sus antiguas canciones y el libro me sigue resultando interesante cuando luego de años vuelvo a leerlo.
