When you think of a coin with a monkey you have the immense popular Lunar Series 1 to 3 made by the Perth Mint in gold or silver.
The Lunar cycle of 12 years has an animal for each of the 12 years. Like rat, dragon, tiger and monkey.
But the gold coin below that I own is made in 2016 by the New Zealand Mint: And it is a real looker.
On the 1 ounce gold coin ( 1100 EUR at the time in 2016) you can see three gibbons the type that hangs in tree tops in malaysia and madagaskar. The serie is minted for Niue and the monkeys and the flower or treetop is deeper than the surrounding surface. The lower parts then are shiny whereas the rest is frosted as we experrts call that! ;)

It is an amazing coin which I like a lot. Other stunning gold coins I have are the US Buffalo, some of the Pandas like 2008 design the Lunar Horse in gold and the Queens beast collector with all the beast on it.
That one is in the safe but I have never made a picture of it.
