Thanks for showing all the love on my last blog. Iām so grateful be part of this amazing community. This blog is going to be the last blog of my expedition of Hampta Valley which I did earlier this month.
If you havenāt gone through my last blog Iām sharing the link below-
The Risk we tookā
In spite of being tired, we took the chance of getting back to Sethan at once without taking any rest. The main reason that we went down was the lack of food and we were very hungry. We quickly consumed all the food that we had in Chikka Campsite and started with our descent back to Sethan.
We knew it was going to be very difficult as we were already tired. We hiked for more than 19 km that day. Almost summited an unknown mountain above Jobra campsite. Came back to Chikka, packed our tents and backpacks. Everyone was fully drenched out, but in spite of that, we took the risk of getting back.
It was slowly getting dark, and we hardly had a few minutes of daylight when we left from Chikka campsite. Another thing that was going to be hard while getting down was the luggage on our backs. We cheered ourselves up and started getting there.!!!
We knew that only if we cheered ourselves up and held each otherās hand, then only we would be able to make it. So we did just the things we needed to do, and with our happy faces, we started our journey back home.
The next dangerous thing was the Jungle that we needed to cross as it was getting dark. They were high chances of encounters with wild animals on our way back home. So, we decided to stick together within 5 feet of distance to each other.
Entering the jungleā
We were about to enter the Jungle after walking for 20-25 minutes, and this was the time we all were concerned about. There was a little to no daylight left, and all we had were our phone flashlights.
It was about 3 km hike back to the car and another 45 minutes of drive back to home. I was also concerned about the drive that I was going to do after getting back to Sethan.
I also knew that I wonāt be able to capture photographs after it gets dark, so I tried to capture the photographs here and kept my phone in my hands.
We were almost running as we all were concerned about meeting wild animals. We could also hear some wolves howling at some distance and that increase our concern. We didnāt wanted to get into any kind of trouble there.
It was dark and I kept my phone inside my jacket. We just ran for straight 20 minutes without looking here and there, and without getting concerned about anything, we just wanted to be as close as to the village as soon as possible.
We also had to cross this steam of water through a wooden bridge that was built on it. We need to be really careful as we were tired, and one wrong step could lead to a big trouble. Everyoneās legs were shaking at this point, but we still had to continue our journey. We hoped that we reached our destination soon.
After walking for another 10 minutes, we reached near the hydroelectric project that was built on that stream. Everyone was happy to be near the village or civilisation and at this point, we knew that we were safe. We somehow had to get to our car that was about 800m away from there.
We reached towards the road after a while, and were super happy. Everyone was super drenched out, and it was the will power in everyoneās head that kept us moving. we wanted to crash on the road, but we couldnāt as we had to get back to our homes.
After walking for a while, on the road, we spotted our car that was parked near the road, and all we need to see was that sight at that time. We loaded our luggage as fast as we could, and without thinking anything else, I drove everyone back home.
On the way, when we got the signal, we called at our home to cook food for us. While we reach there, we were super hungry and super tired.
We reached after driving for an hour and took hot showers. After that, we had great home cooked food cooked by my mom and I checked my phone to see how much I have walked that day and it was more than 22 km.!!!!
We thank God and cheered the whole team for making back home safely, and we had a lot of stories to share with our family members.
Thanks for passing by.
