Zooaquarium of Valencia in Venezuela
Zooaquarium is a compound word that refers to the fact that in the same place there are animals from the sea such as fish, from the land such as reptiles and farm animals, and from the air such as birds. This place is too big to be able to encompass so many species and therefore it is necessary to have an adequate infrastructure to preserve the life of these animals and that humans can enjoy and learn about biodiversity.
More than four decades ago 🤭 being very small I visited this place with my parents, at that time there was only the zoo and the aquarium that I remember, but after so long it was fair and necessary to return and this time I did it accompanied by one of my brothers who had not had the pleasure of knowing this space.

Zooaquarium de Valencia en Venezuela
Zooaquarium es una palabra compuesta que hace referencia a que en un mismo lugar se encuentren animales del mar como los peces, de la tierra como los reptiles y animales de granja y del aire como las aves. Este lugar es muy grande para poder abarcar tantas especies y por eso es necesario tener una infraestructura adecuada para preservar la vida de estos animales y que los humanos puedan disfrutar y aprender sobre biodiversidad.
Hace más de cuatro décadas 🤭 estando muy pequeña visite este lugar con mis padres, en ese entonces solo existía el zoológico y el acuario que yo recuerde, pero después de tanto tiempo era justo y necesario que volviera y esta vez lo hice acompañada de uno de mis hermanos quien no había tenido el placer de conocer este espacio.
When we arrived and I looked at the entrance it did not seem anything special at first glance, it gives the impression of being small, but as I walked around I was amazed at how organized and nice everything looks, first we were in the contact zoo and although it looked small and were near the cows, bulls, pigs, sheep, goats, ostrich, morrocoyos, in turn were also separated each species in their space, all were neighbors to say it somehow, here the architecture and organization of space seemed appropriate, but did not call my attention more than normal.
Then we decided to go to the aquarium and here the interior design really made me smile, at the entrance there are some letters that identify it as “Aquarium of Valencia” although the embossed letters are beautiful its color combination of three types of blue create a little visual confusion, next to the letters is the entrance to the aquarium all lined on the walls and ceiling with images of fish, everyone who passes by there stops for a moment to look around.
Cuando llegamos y miré su entrada no me pareció nada especial a simple vista, da la impresión de ser pequeño, pero a medida que iba recorriendo me asombraba lo organizado y lindo que se ve todo, primero estuvimos en el zoológico de contacto y aunque se veía pequeño y estaban cerca las vacas, toros, cerdos, ovejos, chivos, avestruz, morrocoyos, a su vez también estaban separados cada especie en su espacio, todos eran vecinos para decirlo de alguna manera, aquí la arquitectura y organización del espacio me pareció adecuado, pero no me llamó la atención más de lo normal.
Después decidimos ir a la parte del acuario y aquí el diseño interior sí me sacó una sonrisa, en su entrada hay unas letras que lo identifican “Acuario de Valencia” aunque las letras en relieve están bonitas su combinación de colores de tres tipos de azul crean una pequeña confusión visual, al lado de las letras está la entrada al acuario toda forrada en sus paredes y techo con imágenes de peces, todo persona que pasa por ahí se frena un momento para mirar a su alrededor.
With blue and dark light one is immersed in a marine environment, there in each fish tank are various large and small fish, with adequate lighting, some lights were blue, red, yellow, the walls had waves like the waves of the sea and the ceiling in the corridors made the likeness to be fish, were details with figures of fish, blue light predominates in that environment, there are also next to the fish smart boards that say their scientific name and some characteristics. This part is very nice, but there are things to improve the noise of machines, maybe the engines to oxygenate the tanks, it stunned me a little, I think that should be improved.
Once we left the aquarium, we walked towards the zoo and passed by the food areas. From this part I was pleased to see a combi van set up for selling frapés; everything was country style. After resting and having something to eat, we continued to the last part which was the serpentarium, but before passing through there is a children's playground and restrooms. The children's playground is carpeted and they make everyone who enters do it in socks or barefoot, with a giant owl in its center, take a picture with people nearby, including a normal size adult woman (because I am a small size adult 🤣 1,55 cm) for them to compare the owl. About the bathrooms I must say that I loved the cubicle doors each one with a different animal.
Con luz azul y oscura uno se sumerge a un ambiente marino, allí en cada pecera están diversos peces grandes y pequeños, con una iluminación adecuada, algunas luces eran azules, rojos, amarillos, las paredes tenían ondas como las olas del mar y el techo en los pasillos hacían la semejanza ser peces, eran detalles con figuras de pez, La luz azul predomina en ese ambiente, también están al lado de los peces pizarras inteligentes que dicen su nombre científico y algunas características. Esta parte es muy bonita, pero hay cosas por mejorar el ruido de máquinas, tal vez de los motores para oxigenar las peceras, me aturdió un poco, creo que eso debe mejorarse.
Una vez que salimos del acuario, caminamos hacia el zoológico y pasamos por las zonas de comida. De esta parte me agrado ver una camioneta combi acondicionada para la venta de frapés; todo estaba al estilo campestre. Después de descansar y comer algo, seguimos a la última parte que era el serpentario, pero antes de pasar por allí está un parque infantil y los baños. El parque para niños está alfombrado y hacen que todos los que entren lo hagan en medias o descalzos, con un búho gigante en su centro, saque una foto con personas cercanas, incluyendo una mujer adulta de tamaño normal (porque yo soy adulta de tamaño pequeño 🤣 1,55 cm) para que comparen el búho. Sobre los baños debo decir que las puertas de los cubículos me encantaron cada una con un animal diferente.
To finish we visited the serpentarium area and from far away the mouth of a snake welcomed us, connected to an elevated bridge of structural tubes, and a floor that made me stop to touch, they made like a snake skin or can also be scales of some reptile, designs that embellish an area, once finished the bridge at the entrance there is a very nice painting with the anatomy of the snake, they have the same organs as us and that day I learned that the urine of snakes is solid 😱. Just like in the aquarium, this area makes you feel like you are in the jungle, textured walls and ceilings full of plants and lots of greenery.
Para finalizar visitamos la zona del serpentario y desde lejos la boca de una culebra nos daba la bienvenida, conectada a un puente elevado de tubos estructurales, y un piso que me hizo detenerme a tocar, hicieron como una piel de serpiente o también pueden ser escamas de algún reptil, diseños que embellecen un área, una vez terminado el puente en la entrada hay una pintura muy linda con la anatomía de la serpiente, ellas tienen los mismos órganos que nosotros y ese día aprendí que la orina de las serpientes es sólida 😱. Al igual que en el acuario, esta área te hace sentir como si estuvieras en la selva, paredes con texturas y techos llenos de plantas y mucho verde.
For those who have some phobia with snakes there were quite a few of all kinds and even one available for people to grab and be photographed; there was an interactive room space here you can learn about all species of reptiles in Venezuela, videos are shown on a giant screen and its design is also nice with an oval roof in green tones matching the jungle environment.
The Zooaquarium has an architecture and interior design that highlights the beauty of this place, favoring the assimilation of information and education.
Para los que tienen alguna fobia con las serpientes que había bastantes de todo tipo y hasta una a disposición para que las personas la agarrara y se fotografiaran; estaba un espacio de sala interactiva aquí se puede aprender de todas las especies de reptiles de Venezuela, pasan videos en una pantalla gigante y su diseño también es bonito con un techo ovalado en tonos verde haciendo juego al ambiente selvático.
El Zooaquarium tiene una arquitectura y diseño interior que resalta la belleza de este lugar, favoreciendo la asimilación de la información y la educación.
